Got this 97 in the shop kept blowing the gauge fuse.
Wire for pin 3 of ec1 (main power from gauge fuse) over the starter rubbed through and intermittently shorting on the firewall.
This explains why people unplugging and plugging the connector back in makes the fault go away; because the wire is moved from wherever it was shorting.
You can see the dark spot on the yellow wire.

Is that harness hung in it's original position or has it dropped/drooped or been moved down??

Could you post up a photo taken from a bit further back to show it's relation to the other components?

Car is already gone. It was originally up over the center of the trans a bit more. Had to pull it down to get my big ass hands on the connector.

Slapped some black tape on it and sent it on its way?
