I'm new, let any hazing commence...

I'm nearly positive the axle seal wore out, leaked gear oil into the PS birfield joint and now is grooved and clicking. I'm looking for any advice from local folks that might know the best place to look for repair. I don't have the tools/space to repair myself. Any tips on where I could take it in the area (I'm in Kingsport/Johnson City).

Also, my wife isn't keen on keeping it given it's age; what's the going rate for a stock '97 LX450 with 184k?

I grew up in Kingsport, but unfortunately can't offer any advice. There used to be a 4WD shop out on Stone Drive a couple of miles past the Toyota dealer on the right? If they are still there maybe they can offer some advice?

Did you ever get this fixed? i am sure for the right price :)beer:) a few of us could help you change out the seal yourself. Couple hour job start to finish if you have everything ready (seal, oil, grease, etc...). Maybe a good side project at the pig roast in October?
