Meh.... For NV I don't know that I would rate the Flume as a "Beginner" trail, that really depends on where you start and whether you can get a shuttle or not (normally about $45 a person). If you do not book the shuttle then you are in for a LARGE amount of climbing that is NOT gradual. Is it one of the most scenic trails around, absolutely without a doubt and the iconic Lake Tahoe Sand Harbor Park overlook is epic however getting there can be an absolute bitch if you have done nothing more than flat land riding OR are not used to the 7k' elevation that you basically start at and then climb up to around 8500'.

Always love articles like this that go for a very vague and generic topic of "Best blah blah blah" without showing that they really did base it on specific criteria.
