Happy new year.
I'm having an issue with my a440f transmission. When I just bought it and restored it. It was fine. I then had an overheating issue and then the clutches started to slip.
I got the transmission repaired and rebuilt. After the rebuild when the transmission shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear before it engages 3rd, the engine would rev up about 5-700 rpm then it would engage 3rd.
We took It back out. Pulled it back down to check internals and everything seemed OK.
We suspected it may have been the valve body. So I ordered a used one and the issue seemed to get worse when I changed it. (Highly doubt that 2 valve bodies would be bad). So when the original valve body was in. If I was above 2k rpm the issue would happen once in a while. But once I was below 2k rpm it would let the engine race before engaging.
The "new" valve body cause the issue to happen at any rpm.
Any idea of what could cause this or maybe I have to source a transmission?
