I started it and blows white smoke and misses on 1 hole. Headgasket, thermostat and I have a good 60, (hopefully)

Im having it towed either tonight or tomarrow morning. Just depend when the tow truck driver has time. Its pretty cool. interior very clean. outside really straight other than a little rust. soa looks good but no hi-steer. custom steering, but it works.

1986 Cruiser. The 2F engine died. Rebuilt trans/transfer case, springover, decent 32x11.50 tires. Body straight, some rust on left quarter. Everything else works, even the headlamp washers.303-814-3687,Mike

Looks good man, have fun with it

So where's my finder's fee? (I'll take it out in labor on my '84...)

Ripped the head off last night. Definitely blew head gastket between 3 and 4. Head straight, no visual cracks. Found one burned exhaust valve. Gunna replace the valve and headgasket today and see what happens. The truck only has 145k on the clock and the speedo works. Interior is almost perfect. What a score!

WOW,

That is a Treasure. You got a Steal.

I paid more than that to get my rust fixed.

Great find! you gotta like it when a plan comes together....

that is an awesome find. did the guy just think it was only worth $1K because of the blown headgasket?

The guy selling it is actually a pretty smart and extremely nice guy. He has had a few toy pickups and is a deisel tech for wagner. He told me he just wasnt in the mood to mess with it and had enough project cars. I dont know why he sold it for 1k but I couldnt pass it up. even if the motor was toast the parts I could yank off it for my 84 fj60 would have been worth a thousand. Rebuilt tcase and trans, new clutch, ps, air pump, starter, carb, alt. within last year. ac works, interior awesome. Looked closer at head yesterday and think it would be wise to have it shaved. Still Im pretty happy. Oh ya. it didnt have a tstat in it! The tstats on 60s are too big to leave out. although they let it run cooler in moderate temps, there is no restriction to leave rad enough time to cool it. The last two weeks here have been real hot. hence my new truck. Hopefully it goes back together well, and arent any surprises. It ran into the shop missing one hole and blowing white smoke but didnt hear anything alarming in bottom end. He said he always had a slight miss and a load valve. I found it. So sorry so long winded.

pretty clean 60. i saw it saturday at the shop.

needs some steering fixes but all in all....best 1k i've seen spent.

nice score syver.
see you guys in the morning.

Cool Syver, I'll be stopping down to see you all you 60 guys in the next few days. 3 60 owners with 4 shops, too cool when you think some people on Mud hardly ever see another 60 around their town.

So now all 3 of us have 2 FJs each (2Bad has a 40 & a 60; 84Cruz & I have 2 60s each). Castle Rock has at least 50 - not bad for a town of 50,000!

There's a stock 62 down the street from my house & a 60 with a 383 LT1 & a GM 5speed about a mile away. Prolly more in the neighborhood that I haven't seen.
