v-8 adapter
I am in the hunt for a Marks of australia v-8(sbc) adapter for a 77' fj-40. I would prefer if it were used, to keep the price below 1200.00.
I have a 77' fj-40 and am useing the ignitoin system out of a 79' camero. It runs a hotter spark and all you have to do is change distributor gears and make sure the tip goes into the oil pump and you have a cheap electrical ignition.
marks of australia v8 adapter
I am checking to see if anyone has or knows anyone who is selling a new or used marks of australia chev v8 adapter for my 77 fj-40 with the stock 4 speed, hopefully for less than factory price. I have decided that the AA model requires more time than I have.
I was planning on doing it on my 77 fj-40 with the stock 4 speed. I have a 4 inch lift will this have any effect on the conversion process.
Thanks for the input
When doing a v8 conversion with the AA kit why do you have to do driveshaft mods and floorboard mods? And what are the dimensions for these changes. Also what are the average prices on the driveshaft mods. I am looking to do this prefferably with the marks of australia but I was offered a...
Re: 350 to stock 4 speed again
Will the Lakewood actually adapt the 350 to the 4 speed?
Also the scattershield, what exactly will this do to adapt the two?
What are you both wanting to get+ship?
350 to stock 4 speed again
I know its all ready been asked but it cant hurt.  :Does anyone have a conversion kit they are selling used or new. prefferably marks but that isnt likely, advanced adapters as well.
chev 350 adapter
I am looking for a adapter for a chev 350 to my 77' fj-40 keeping the 4 speed. Either the advancded adapters version or the Marks of australia, preferably, or just parts of the kits.
I also have the ignition off the camero and one thing I had to do was to modify the metal bar that connects the drive gear into the camshaft. If was all pretty simple, but make sure you get a quality distributor because I got a junkyard special for 45$ and lasted about 45 days until the copper...
I just put on a skyjacker 4" lift and 33" tires and was wondering if I can run shackles that are nearly 2" longer than stock in the rear without having any drivelines popping out or something along those lines at full extension?
I was just wondering if the rear brake line will fit on the front so I dont have to buy an extended line for my 4" lift. Will the fittings match is what I want to know? Thanks
There is a tire shop who just purchased a couple sets of the old BFGs before they made the sidewalls all soft. Would it be a good deal to buy these for 131 a piece? Are these a good tire for mud and on-road? The sales man said these were some of the best, longest lasting tire that they sell...
Does anyone know what the bare minimum amount of stuff(seats,tank,heater...) is necisary to change the clutch. Also does anyone have any low-tech ways of pullin the tranny for this project with the top on?
Re: stock fj40 shackles
I think that stock shackles are 2 3\4" and the daystars are 6" so that is 3 1\4" longer, but if you are'nt gonna do anything to the front of the spring that you are putting them on than I think that it will only lift half the amount that you have gained, so in this case...
