Moving to New Orleans in a few months, after much thought and deliberation Ive decided to sell the 40 known to me for the last 2+ years as "Jane" I can rehash info here...or you can slide over to the 40s thread I updated somewhat religiously.
Put a Trollhole Soft top and Real Steel Bows on her...
So I quit that real job, thinking I'd have more time.. Then the huz quit his job and came to work with me, picking and going to auctions all over the east coast. Turns out, when you like what you do, you have even less spare time.:bang:
Then we found out that large lot between the highway and...

Well after a summer of driving Jane without a hard top, I decided to permanently go soft top. I got my soft top from trollhole, and my bows from Real Steel Cruisers.
Step one : cut a hole in the box ;) JK! The bows out of the box are raw steel. Wiped them clean with alcohol, coated them...

Rob and I decided to take Jane for a foggy morning breakfast. We dropped tundra off for service and she sputtered and died.

What are the pain points for these? Anything specific to these we should check outside of the normal stuff?
It seems a lot of us like decals/stickers - so how about a straight up one for one trade thread? The cost is an envelope and a stamp!
They dont have to be cruiser related,..but the only rule is one for one trades only!
What do you think?
Okay, those you who said once I drove the 40 topless I'd never want to go back...you were right. I love my bikini top - but here are the facts and I need the feedback of the guys I trust most...

So me the huz and the kid riding along in the tundra on I40 headed out fo drop off landcruiser parts..a honda enters the ramp onto 40 nearly sideswipes us. I being the nerd I am have my phone on camera mode...cause I expected to see landcruisers for the 'youve been spotted" section. Instead I...

So. Ever since Flashdance _ ive wanted to try an interesting hobby. . Welding. =)
I have absolutely ZERO experience. What would be the best route to learning? Which type of welding is most usable for an fj40?
And lastly, how do I convince the huz that buying all this stuff is cost effective?
Anyone do this? Two of my friends picked up the kid and took her out exploring today-she really enjoyed the blend of using technology and nature as a modern day treasure hunt.
There are a few kids in this club, maybe we could incorporate geocaching for the kids at events?
