I'm considering building a trailer to tow my 40 on. I want something light, as small as possibe and low to the ground. Also, considering a single heavy duty axle to keep rolling resistance down. Any thoughts or experience towing a 40 on a single axle trailer? I'm towing with a Dodge 3/4 ton...
I found this on ebay and ordered one for my 40. Looks to be a good setup for a 40 while retaining the stock radio opening in the dash. Is a AM/FM receiver with ipod input, sd card slot, and usb. For some reason this unit was discontinued by the manufacturer and this seller has 3 left. Just...
Curious if TAC folks have any input on the problem I came accross. Rather than rewrite everything check out this link

Replaced the timing belt on my 2000 3.4 4runner @ 201,000mi. today. While I had it apart I noticed the crankshaft would move front to rear about 1/4"! I know that this isn't good. I thought that these motors would go more than 200,000mi! Especially with the amsoil synthetic oil I have used...
May as well go ahead and get this started.
Who's going? March 26-28?
Eric Jobe and I are working on our 40's to be ready. Planing on leaving early Fri. morning and wheeling Fri pm, Sat and Sun am.
Had a GREAT time last year!
Eric Jobe and I just received a pair of shiny new cage kits from Metal Tech :D. Looks like there's quite a bit of notching to be done to get things to fit properly. Any suggestions on where to source a new tubing notcher, or better yet, anyone have one to rent or loan?
Hoping to get Jobe's...
I bought a set of FJC wheels & tires from a guy in Derby, KS (near Wichita), and need to find a way to get them home. If anybody's going that way and could haul them I would be more than happy to compensate with beer or $$. If not I may be making a road trip or UPS. Let me know! Thanks, Eric
The switch on the rear hatch of my 2000 4Runner has gone bad. I was going to replace it, but I can't find the damn thing. Is it part of the latch? Anybody done this before???
Oh Yeah, it's the switch that tells the dome light to come on when the door is open.

Time for new tires on my 00 4Runner. SHe's got old PP springs and Bilsteins on all 4 corners, 3.4 auto, 185k on the ticker, & bald 275/70's. Job change has me doing a lot more driving and I'm being paid mileage, so I want to get the best MPG possible. Anyone have experience with the 235/85R16's...
Does anyone know of a cb radio that will fit, or come close to fitting the factory radio hole in the dash? I really want to keep the dash clean looking and don't want to cut the original opening. Sure would be nice if there were a combo cb/fm/cd unit! Thanks for info!! Eric
I've been trying to contact Jim C., but he hasn't responded. I need my carb & dist overhauled pronto!! Who else out there is good at this stuff?? Thanks
My 40 buildup has taken a different direction and I will be doing 4" springs instead of SOA..................So I'm looking for some used springs to throw on the rig. If any body in KC area has any to turn loose of let me know.
Thanks, Eric
I plan to drive the crap out of my 40 when I get her done. 99% street, 1% trail. I have overhauled the 2F and picked up a H55 and split case. Want to go with 33x10.5's on stockers with 4" lift. My question is - will my road worthyness improve with 3.70's instead of the 4.10's?? What is the...
