Its not a TRD, does that make a difference? Its just a limited with the towing package (big alternator and battery).
I have been looking at tundra solutions a bit, trying to get an idea of what I want to do with her.
Could you post up a pic of your truck? and what size tires are you...
Hey guys, cracked the head on my 60s engine (350) so my dad is gonna fix it and use it as a lease truck. So I got an 06 Tundra Double cab, 2wd (only 16k miles booyah!). Still seriously needs to get the nose up. Which one of the levelling kits would you guys recommend and I should be able to fit...
haha, put less than 20 miles on her and she started spewing antifreeze and way too much steam out of the exhaust. i love sitting on the side of the highway waiting on a tow.
I haven't had it in 4wd for a few months. there is a little play in the front drive shaft, but barely any in the rear. I guess I'll be checking the timing and maybe dropping the pan on Sunday, its raining and snowing at the moment.
It would seem to me that if it were rod knock or an exhaust leak (which I know I had a little one a while back, which would make sense) that either of these would be just as prevelant when revving the engine at idle or would they only present themselves while the engine has a load on it?
no stethoscope, I'll get the timing checked, and look at the egr. I did melt an egr bung over tthe summer, but the noise didn't start for another month or so.
It doesn't make the noise in neutral, only when the gas is down and there is a load on the transmission. It did it even with a new tank of gas. I can rev it in neutral and it sounds fine. I thought that I might have got some mud or something in the clutch at first, but I wouldn't think it would...
Okay, been awhile since I posted, I have only got to put about 200 miles on my cruiser since September, since I live all of three blocks from my furthest class now.
The thing is I think that my clutch or something pretty close to it is F-in up. I have a pretty substantial knocking sound when...
I gave it a pretty good look. The surface rust seems to be the biggest problem, other than the towing 'neck'. Still haven't bought it yet. Talked myself out of it for the time being. I'm going to work on a new rear bumper, or just adding a receiver hitch. Then if its still there in a few weeks...
I'm gonna take cowboys advice and start my offer at 100 bucks. I'll probably make a new tailgate out of angle iron and expanded metal if i get it. I figure it will be a good project to practice my welding skills, and I won't be like everybody else. Now just to get a hitch.
Yeah the front looks to be beat up, but it doesn't seem to be anything too serious. The back doesn't look too bad. I think the tire is just low from sitting too long. It is already on 6 lug, so I would need to change out the axle except for aesthetics, so that could wait.
I was thinking that...
I know its not a 416, at least no model of it that I have ever seen.
I guess it could be an ooooold truck bed. The axle is a welded up ford 9" I think. There's no rust, and just a little bit of body damage. And all the light look new.
What do you guyz think? I haven't bought it yet, but...
I like the rear, but I wouldn't want that stinger so tall and up close to the grille. I would want it to come just above the TOYOTA and then back down into that single piece cross bar somewhere around the compound bend. But that is just what I would want.
I'll second that. I ordered a 200+ amp alternator for my truck from them, way better price than anything else I can find, and it was the right the first time it came, unlike O'reilly's.
