I too am at this crossroads
The grizzly and the baliegh look to be the same quality tools
They also look to be the same as my current low buck
fixed bandsaw. I encounter the same issues you have describes re: straight cut.
I dont see that the design of these is any different except the...
I have this unit
14" Multipurpose Chop Saw, Cuts Steel Aluminum & Wood, Professional Chop Saw, evolutionrage.com
Works great. I dont do much aluminium and have worn out 1 of the multipurpose blades it comes with. I have the steel only blade on it now.
Blades are spendy. But the unit is...
Yes
For small low starting torque loads like a mill or lathe
you can get buy with a capicitor style phase converter.
150 to 200 dollars.
for high starting torque loads like a compressor or large motors
you will need rotophase converter like that posted by Joe
1500-3000
like splitshot said...
we never used anything but sched L copper
In the field I have seen peeps use 2 wire hydraulic hose
this ends of turning into goo from the heat and oil not a good choice.
I have seen 1 unit in my 10 year career that had a braided hose on it. But doubt it was teflon core as that isnt likely to...
discharge line
I predict discharge tube failure.
Sweating copper is fine for hanging on the wall. As it rarely sees
high enough pressure/tempurature combination to reach failure.
If you have used Sched M it most likely isnt rated for that kind of pressure/temp
Schedual L is common...
that unit is designed to pump oil
that is refrigerant compressor. it is built with rudementary attention spend on oil control.
most unit dont even have an oil control ring.
Truly a poor choice for compressed air.
skip the hardware and go to a lumber yard
Get the 1/4 thick peg board
we use 1/4" thick with 1/4" holes from our local lumber yard
is much stiffer than the junk from Lowes or home depot.
no backing needed.
rip out the sheet rock?
I would run EMT around the shop before ripped out sheet rock.
Thats just me cause I hate doing sheet rock and rather suck at it.
T8 are the appropriate lite for you application. I recommend
getting Tubes that are above 5000k in the color range.
These are...
hmm
You didnt offer enough info.
Is this a 2 stage machine? pump model R15 or something else
When lookin at the cylinder does it appear that there are 2 cylinders siamesed together, with one being smaller than the other.
If so, your problem is likely valves. more to the point your high...
Buy the most you can afford is good answer
I couldnt/ wouldnt survive with less than a 3 hp. 11-12 cfm @90 psi
5 hp (18-21cfm @ 90 psi) in my view is the best option.
Can find applications where it wont be enough. You bet ya.
Sand blasting comes to mind foremost.
The thing you need to...
That happens to me when....
I am running to much heat or not enough feed speed.
the arc burns back to the tip.
This has happened 3 or 4 times to me.
not likely the problem you are facing. But throwing it out there, just in case.
yeah, what Pin head said.
The pump on there would be 445
The smallest recommended HP is 7.5hp @ 445 rpm
I wouldnt go below 400 rpm if I was you. some units have min
rpm stamped on the same tag as the model number.
The reason I wouldnt go below 400 or whatever is stated on the tag is ...
Craigslist is your friend
That couple of hundred dollars will buy you a miller thunderbolt off of craigslist np. All of them I have ever seen are AC/DC
I have only ever used mine DC. Great tool.
I built a 3500# gvw trailer with it and a Vehicle rotosserie
and countless other projects...
depending on the severity
you can sometimes salvage the part by welding on the crown of the curve which will make the metal pull towards the weld side.
and grind flush.
This a last ditch hail mary its better to never have to do this.
you wouldn't run anything very long.
Running an airbrush that might last a couple of hours.
Die grinder 3mins or so.
You can do the math to see how many cfm there will be in the bottle at the final pressure.
divide that by cfm of the tool. and you will see it isnt very feasable.
Good luck!

This is how I roll.
well not really roll as there are no casters :)
doubles and roller stands for sawing

what is the model # of the pump. most 5hp pumps can be run at 3hp. You just gotta slow them down a bunch.
What rpm is the 3hp motor?
Model number will give us speed info. for the pump.
