Might be worth watching this video.
This engineer designed the front and rear suspensions and axles for the LC.
Short story: everything they were tasked to do was based on cost/destination regulations/weight savings.
I should be picking up my FE by next week, I got 33/12.5/18 R/T ordered, will install at local shop once vehicle arrives.
Fingers crossed on no rubbing....
I have a meteor shower first edition reserved at Five Star Toyota Aberdeen Washington at MSRP. A buyer backed out of the same build at my local dealer and I purchased that one last night. I just sent an email to my sales associate in Aberdeen and...
I just picked one up tonight. It fights in my 82.5" garage with plenty of room. I didn't measure because we got home so late but looked to be around 3".
Axle I can see. Why is there any reason to suspect the GX frame is somehow more rigid than the 250 frame? That goes against Toyota's whole design philosophy to have as many shared parts as possible.
I test drove a gx today and was quite impressed. Blows my old 80 and 100 out of the water in terms of power and drivability- it’s not even close. I also felt the interior was similar size, didn’t feel smaller at all, and I actually felt I had...
I doubt they did, but I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong. But it also would not surprise me if the spec number underestimates suspension sag and tire deformation.
I just measured my garage, and it's about the same, almost 83" but anything over...
I'm curious if they included the little shark fin antenna in the 76.1" measurement. If that's the case the number might be right. I hope it is, my garage is 82.5".
Tight fit.
"Includes credit for OEM tires" - which at dealer prices is what, $1,000? $1,500? So $6,500, where I could buy the nicest beadlocks or a set of Volks AND almost two sets of tires. That's insanity.
I am not sure fully understand why so angry with this. My LC200 is 1273 lbs after the yellow sticker. That's only 173 lbs difference. Or 13.5%.
Is it really THAT bad ?
Not intended to flame but honestly asking. 🙏🏿🫂
I don’t recall them ever using “Light Duty” in press materials for the US market (other markets yes). Here, they have instead marketed it as a successor to the heavier duty “wagon” lineage of US market Land Cruisers (return of Land Cruiser). The...
Went to go see the First Edition LC this morning. All of the measurements are the same as the GX except the height of the load floor which seems to subtract 3 3/4" from the overall opening and interior height. Here are the measurements...
