I went eventually with a Rhino Rack and a 2500 lbs winch and some aluminum profiles to winch the 18ft Hobie Tandem Island with ease onto the roof.
A bit more involved to setup, but it works great. Zero heavy and awkward lifting and risk of...
Showed up 2021 "ran when parked" in '97. Needed absolutely everything except a body lol
Current day '24 after replacing/restoring anything I could get my hands on.
Just about there filling out the missing tool parts for my late model FJ40 - latest addition being the correct yellow handled screwdriver. Forgive the incorrect jack handle (it’s a later model Toyota part - keeping my eye out for the brown cast...
As other said, they're aftermarket wheels. If they are 8" wide they would be interesting and I would hold on to them. IMO, 10" wide wheels are too wide. It looks like they might have 1/4" spacers behind them, which is not uncommon for wheels...
@65swb45 brings up a good point, and reminded me of what modifications I had to do to a new exhaust that was installed when I initially purchased my 40. In the photo below, you can see how the mechanic had the exhaust run a little more than 45...

I’ve...
I love it when I’m faced with an issue on this truck and someone is posting about it at the same time. This thunk has been driving me crazy - thought for sure it was something in the steering column or transmission tunnel. Then it mysteriously...

Thank you all for the great expert tips - even the ‘put a wrench on it’ one!
I’m happy to say the winner was soaking it with a penetrating oil and then using an easy out. Couldn’t have been easier. I hope one day I’ll have this kind of expertise...
