The build slowed down again, spent to much time at work to finish some long time projects for different customers.
But I acquired some tires,
some wheels,
painted things,
fixed dozens of PO-hackjobs
and ripped out all of this disgusting...
First time actually doing body, but tried to educate myself by watching YouTube. Probably a yr or so back I plugged the backing of the holes on the finders. Now sanded them with 80 grit and laid some fiberglass puddy.
I think pretty good for...
Swapped the headlights and spot light bulbs with Holley Retrobrights. I love that these are LED ansd much brighter than OEM halogen, but they retain the classic look ON and OFF with the 3000k color temp.
I was also freaking out at how much it was going to cost to straighten the frame.... turns out it was only $800... still bad.. but could be worse. AND I DONT KNOW HOW I MISSED IT. BUT THE FRAME HAD A GIANT BUCKLE IN IT
The frames back to being...
Selling that SC would probably fund quite a bit of the LS swap. That said, in your shoes I'd probably do some basic stuff (leak down, bore scope, etc) to see how terminal the 1FZ issues might be. Good luck - it's a great rig!
My 94 always ran like a scalded dog when it had the 1fz. Here is the last pull before pulling in shop to do engine swap. 315s, stock gears, stock bumpers on. Magnaflow muffler. CEL for o2 sensor.
I honestly think a lot of people’s issues with...
I often see people in the forum comment on how much of a dog their 1FZFE is. Well here is a video of mine.
Dead stop to 50mph. Engine is new (not rebuilt, new) 16,000 miles ago. Stock gears and 315’s, no other mods, elevation is about 2,500ft...
Hi together. Does anybody know the DENSO equivalent for 23600-19067? That should be the OEM-No. for 1HD-FT replacement Injectors if i'm not completely confused after turnig the Internet upside down for the last hour or so in search of that stupid...
Took my parent's mint '92 HDJ80 to yesterdays Offroad-Day at the Toyota Collection Cologne.
First time I touched that car since losing my father to cancer last year. It brought back so many great memories of traveling and wrenching, laughing and...
Thank you! I used the original cards for patterns (2 out of the 4 of them were pretty deteriorated ) and 1/8” Masonite from HD for the new cards. Had to trace the locations for the holes for the snap clips, holes for the door opener mechanisms...
I made this same repair in the same location. You don't need to do much metal shaping at all...I'll see if I can find a pic.
This is what I was dealing with:
And this is how I approached the repair: I simply cut three strips of sheet metal...
15 years the consensus on this forum was that the slee 6" lift would be the only way to really clear a 37". 10 years ago it turned into a 4" lift with bump stop extensions and the proper wheel back spacing. Now a 2" lift is good enough.
There is...
Probably not what you asked for, but If you want to drive it without excessive tire rub, giant lift, cutting sheet metal or limiting articulation, you should go with narrow 35s, especially on the flareless 80, or pick some 37s that are known to...
Does it stay running without holding the throttle down? Or does it die when you let off?
I had that happen once on a customers Deutz tractor. The gear for the IP sheared the key off and slipped on the shaft, causing it to run super retarded...
New primer came with a copper crush washer, I see many IP's that all look the same/share the same parts. All using that bosch patented IP design it seems.
I did this and it totally solved the issue! Ran it off the tank and got clean strong...
All else remaining equal, I connected the boost control solenoid to the ECU.
Then I turned on the boost control and entered 30% to the solenoid duty cycle (feed forward table). I tested it and it went from 0.65 (9.4 PSI) BAR to 1 BAR (14.5 PSI)...
