What is the word on these? I have spoken with a couple of guys from OZ that run them and are very happy with them, Maybe they will chime in. I was planning to do the FOR lift but I'm tired of waiting. Nothing against the others, I'm just fond of progressive springs. I've had them on other rigs and really liked them. I assume the Kings are progressive?
Anybody else interested in the Kings?

They make a quality product. Especially their coilovers. This is in the jeep and buggy world at least. Radflo and fox would be other competitors.

Apparently they work well!

"G'day all,
12fishy from Oz here, and i'm looking for some advise and pointers to get the most out of the front end of the 105... The truck set up is 4in lift by King progressive springs, 6in Tough Dog Adjustable shocks. (swaybars disconnected and all the other gear for the lift.....) So the front is a 3 link now, but what can i do to get more flex out of the front end??? When flexing, the spring starts to leave the spring seat but never it manages to flex out to the full Length of the shock.. See below... Should i get more out of the front or is That it??? Also will it drive like an ass if further mods ane done???

Cheers, fishy "

I'd be in for some springs. What type of springs are you looking at ? 3" 4"?

I was chatting with an Aussie last year that has them on his 80. He was claiming them to be the best spring out there, and was heckling my OME lift.
I will try to find the video I saw them in

my cruiser came with standard height replacement kings when i bought it. i put a 30mm coil spacer in the front end to level it and dobinsons 4" extended shocks all round. i dont have any great flex shots. but the setup does work well, the shocks top out just as the springs run out of travel with the swaybars still in. only concern i have is that the front end seems to be sagging out a bit. going to upgrade to dobinson 2" lift springs and airbags at the end of the year.

i can say this set up rides well, and flex's great, i still beat my mates locked LR defender in just about every situation.

front end isnt really flexing here because most of the 80's weight was on its rear axle at that point but the front does articulate a similar amount as the rear.

King springs have been around a long time, and they do all sorts of applications, not just 4wd.

Word on the street is ARB springs are made by Kings anyway (to their own specification), and their shocks by Monroe.

heard on the grapevine that all/most of the major australian suspension brands are made by the same company and then painted and stickered for various brands ie. ARB, EFS, KING etc.

I ran King 3" lift springs and Bilstein shocks for 8 or so years. Very reliable and worked well, did 100,000km on them and were still working when I took them off.
I swapped them for a longer 12" shock and longer progressive springs. Still sits at the same height but I get more down travel with the spring still captured.

My Kings were a more linear wind and worked well in conjunction with the shorter travel Billies. Just make sure you get the correct spring rating for the amount of load you're going to travel.
I changed from HD to HHD after about the first 6 months as I was carrying more stuff than I'd allowed for. Its was sitting level for day to day driving but was too soft when fully laden, with HHD unladen its "stink-bug" but level with everything in.

King makes most of the springs for the Aussie cheaper brands, but they are made to their specifications as said above, and none of them are much of a patch on kings own springs, mine had been in for around 4-5 years and i rekon they have only just settled in, probably lost 10mm out of their height in that time being driven everyday for around 4 years and the car has only jst been retired to weekends, i will buy king again without question.

I dont know if its really worth the group buy unless you can get some really good deal on shipping, they are great coils, the best in Au imo but yeah its alot of mucking around for just good coils and they generally want alot of detail about your car/ they check your car out and find out exactly what you want then they offer you some options. I live within 20mins of Kings HQ and will be hitting them up soon for some longer ones.

Yes we know what King is, but we are talking about King springs, did you even read the thread ?

I finally got some responses back from a few suppliers in OZ. Looks like shipping alone would be around $300. The coils range from $130 to 150 per pair.
I also found someone in the states who is about to do a bulk order from King. Once I contact KING and get the exact part #'s I need, I will get with them and see what the cost is through them. I'll post up once I get the pricing.........

Kings springs are a fairly popular spring used in our Aussie GMH cars, the same vehicles as the 2003ish Pontiac gtos you guys have but also our 4 door, ute, wagon versions
I run a set of kings in my old cruiser and they went allright for cheapys
