My "new" BJ40

let me introduce myself first. My name is Azman, from Terengganu, Malaysia. it took me about a year finding my bj. Bj price is faily high here in malaysia. I bought mine for rm25000 from Sabah (east malaysia).

the bj is in fair condition. still complete, but need some repair works. lot of work actually. for now i settle for some break and radiator works. i'll do the less critical repair/modification when my budget allow.

based on the registration card it is a "B" engine. sorry i dont really know how to tell them apart

Pearly, yes this one is from Mudah. actually I intended to buy a different bj from him. somehow he offered me this. price is inclusive the title transfer and also shipping to Port Klang. not a bad deal.

Looks like a 3bII to me. Big bonus, way better than a B.

not really. there are lot of on going engine work. the previous owner did not properly install the new engine (used). the engine is not properly aligned. I'm also installing new aircond. overall i'm spending about 10k just for the engine work. way beyond my budget.

10K?? Are you sure you want to keep that engine? It cost about 10K to change to a 1J or 1JZ with a 5 speed here in KL!

For our friends overseas, that's about US$3K

well actually the price is for repair works other than the engine. steering box, tie rod end, bushing, relocating the spring leafs, new engine mounting (not well align after then previous owner change the engine), new air cond and few more small small works.

i'll be in kl in 2-3 weeks time. let me know if you want to have a "teh tarik" time. My house is kampung pandan.

just an update.

finally my bj is ready to take the beating. last week i drove my bj from Kuala lumpur to Paka, Terengganu. we are talking about 380km drive here, alone.

beside the muscle ache, everything are ok. right now i'm just working on some of the body parts like the door, the window, radio... (not enough space to write ha...)
