I noticed the other day that the odometer on my 82' has quit working. The tenths of a mile are still spinning but nothing after that. I read some old threads but there was a lot of debate about how to fix them and where you can get parts. I'm going to take it out and see if it's just 25 years worth of crud that has it stuck or if there's a broken connecting piece. Has anyone had any luck in locating a source for these small odometer parts?

From another thread...

http://www.redlinegaugeworks.com/

Shannon did all of TLC's Speedos and I am sending him my 79 with 57k and a late model 6 dig odo and then swap them so I have the later model with 57k on it, also I want the arrow blinkers and highlighted 55.

He also does something with the amp guage??? Hes the best I am told, he also restores the face and this is something I can't do.

I have no extras, it took me along time to get one. www.cruiserparts.net has them.

the guts from a fj60 or 62 are the same(as the 81+ fj40), get a cheap 60/2 speedo cluster and swap the guts, you can roll the odo around to get the correct/matching miles.

I had the same problem, took it apart...the gears inside hit a tab on each wheel which and spins the next one when it hits "9"...you can simply swap the "10ths" wheel out, or do what I did, and changed it for the "10,000ths", putting the white "10s" whell on the end. it looks odd, but will work until you find a useable "10ths" gear...took about 30 minutes to change it out.
