Not really keen to place this up for sale but I am going away for a year and my wife is applying some advice.
Vehicle: Canadian market 1985 BJ60
Asking Price: $4000obo
Location: Vehicle is in Savannah, GA. Vehicle was imported from Canada but due to its age and the way the DMV works here in Georgia I was not given a title but drive around with a folder containing the GA registration, the bill of sale and the last vehicle registration from British Columbia.

As I mentioned above I am going away for a year and the wife will be as well. I am not in a huge rush to get rid of the truck but by the third week in August it will be going into storage.

Truck has been on mud here at least two times in the past (most recent below – or one owner between me and the add).

I have not much to add to the previous adds. It has been a daily driver for me as work hasn’t allowed me to take the time off that I would have liked. Truck has normal (for Canadian Truck) rust in the usual areas for the year and model. The frame however is solid.

The truck is running off a replaced 3B diesel engine mated to the H55F transmission. With the 4.56 gears I usually cruise at around 60 mph (turning roughly 2500 rpms and a EGT temp of 825’ish at sea level). I typically get between 20 – 22 mpg driving about 62 miles each day to work. (31 miles one way).

Truck includes a full size (brand new) spare on 15” Toyota rims and a Thule Roof rack. 2.5" Belton lift, 4:56 gears, 33" BFG ATs, full size spare, Safari Snorkel, ARB Bull Bar, Cobra CB, Larssen whip antena, Class III tow hitch, trailer brakes with 7 pin plug. I replaced the headlights with IPF lens combined with PIAA H4 bulbs based on the roads I drive daily. Just had the belts and oil changed as well as new front brakes and the rear brakes serviced. Truck is a unique for me (being my fourth mid-eighties Toyota) in that it has a working stereo system.

As mentioned I am going overseas for a year and the wife is likewise leaving North America as well.

As requested here is a photo (from previous add) of the roof rack.

You can see that the truck last listed for $5900. It has a couple more kilometres on it, and a couple more scratches.

I have listed it locally for $4200..

email sent.

Are those the original front fenders?
In that first pic, they seem to be a different finish, less glossy, than the rest of the truck.
Good luck, I wish I was buying it

Ouch,

Sorry to all - I am a bit flooded with emails but will answer each one tonight. Just thought I would fire off some common answers now.

First - the title. As I said it has no title. Why? Because I imported it from Canada to the USA in December of 2011. In the great State of Georgia they state:

"Important: If your 1963-1985 year model vehicle was last registered in a state or country that does not issue titles, a Georgia title will not be issued for the vehicle."

http://motor.etax.dor.ga.gov/motor/TitleSection/ts_TitledRegOOS.aspx

Or hence, no title.

Second - rust. Again there is rust on this cruiser. It has only been in the south since December and has spent the better part of its life in Canada. For a US truck I guess the rust is bad on the body (frame is good) but for a Canadian truck it is not bad (having owned four mid-eighties Toyotas). Will upload some frame shots.

Third - running. It has a wilson switch and a vehicle immobilizer provided by the great Province of British Columbia. To start the truck I do the immobilizer thing, turn the key, hold the wilson switch for a 15 count (first thing in the morning starts) and fire her up. No smoke of note. Engine currently has 406,000 km (about 254,000 miles)

Photos are of the back driver then passenger side quarter panels.

I hesitate here

Okay - this is the area of rust that concerns me the most. It is the drivers side passenger wheel well. One of the previous owners used some sort of patch on it but now I am/was looking hat have the wheel well re-done (ah ha everyone says now the price makes sense).

This is from the passenger side wheel well for comparison.
