Has been Labor Day weekend (Sat-Mon) in the past.... I think that is the case for this year - Sept 5-7.

shameless cut-n-paste

that's right, it's that time of the year again.

the 2009 event will be held at deer valley CA, same location it has been for the past few years. take hwy88 almost to the intersection with hwy89 and head south towards blue lakes. then head down the trail to the first creek crossing and you won't be able to miss the spot.

just like in previous years, we'll do some group pics on sunday morning and there will ba a freebie raffle on sunday evening. attendees are encouraged to bring a price, large or small. we'll do another cash raffle as well. half the proceeds go to FOTR as always, the other half goes to one lucky winner. tickets are $10 each and you can buy as many as you want..........

i'll get there on saturday morning, sept 5th and will be there till monday the 7th. but you're welcome to show up anytime. there's no sign-in, no club affiliation requirement, no attendance fee, ......i try to keep this as simple and low-key as possible. just make sure your rig is trail worthy, that you conduct yourself in a respectable manner, tread lightly, clean up after yourself, respect the fellow attendees and their needs and be ready to have a good time!!!!!

you do not need to drive an fj45 to this gig. any 4wd will do although cruisers are preferred. if you're gonna show up in a jeep, then be ready for some friendly razzing.

lemme know if you need more info, i'll try to find a link to last years' thread which should have better directions and tons more info as well as lots of pics from the 2008 run.

edit: found it:

I'll try and bring the Pig out this year.

Yep, it works.

There are some interesting discussions regarding this trail, and everyone should take note: it bisects a wilderness area. Very unusual. Apparently it is an old right of way granted to PG&E or whatever utility owns the rights to the waters in Deer creek, written into the Mokolumne Wilderness bill years ago...

This one can go away very easily.

Tread lightly, folks...

Im IN!
Had a BLAST last year and met some really great folks out there.
Cant wait to go again!

Ahww man. I have to work that weekend. Might have to do a night run and Bonzai into work in the a.m. Is anyone planning a night run?

Wish I could go..

I'll be camping off hwy 4 near the turn off to Spicer..

cruza is down at the moment..

will there be more beer in the raffle?

I suppose I can bring some more up this year. I thought the Sierra Nevada was appropriate. Maybe the new Kellerweis? or some super hoppy Torpedo? Maybe some of each..?

no beer will be denied as raffle prizes. but it may get 'sampled".

I am going to try and make this trip with my kids, any kids going? Mine are 5(she will be 6-on sept.3!),and Gavin is 9.My 40 will not be ready,80 is gone, gonna' have to take my T100.I can make it no prob.to the camp spot, but after that is a no go! I can't thrash my work truck.
Mark Warner might be going with his kid,so we can just take a little run in his 80! Other than that it's a good spot to camp and hang out.

Gonna be bringing Nicole's little brothers too as well as the evil mini schnauzer. Gonna have to figure out how to attach my roof rack to my non roofed 40. Will probably be coming to see Georg and Don to talk design a week or so before hand.
