I'm leaving tomorrow on the trip. Figured I'd start another thread that can be updated real-time.
The truck is:
- Tinted
- Locked
- Winched
- Radar Detected
- CB'd
- Garmin'd
- Tuned from here to hell
- Full of all of my crap
Plan is still to leave Charlotte NC on Monday morning. DanKunz had mentioned Tellico, but I think they're closed through March? If not that, I'm planning on making it to Natchez Trace state park to camp for the first night. After that I'm relatively open - planning on being in Durango CO to meet up with Trapper50Cal and the local crew by the weekend.
Anyone between TN and CO want to meet up?
Longer term schedule is below:
March 12 - leave NYC, hit DC, night in DC
March 13-15 - in Charlotte, NC
March 16-18/19 - drive west (anyone want to hang between NC and CO?)
March 19-22/23 - in southern Colorado/Utah/AZ/NM - definitely looking to do some CO wheeling, some desert wheeling etc.
March 23-27 - Either hanging with Hedonist, Alaska60 and some Utah guys or heading to Northern CO close to KraziKraker and Rover67 for some snowboarding - thoughts? WIll be back in UT for Cruise Moab
March 27-30 - in SF with a good friend
March 30-April 4 - in SF/ Napa with the woman
April 4/5 - put the woman on a plane and hang with NocalFJ60, NorCalBorn, Clongacre, and the Norcal/SF guys
April 6/7 - up through Oregon and Washington, hang with High Desert, DirtGypsy, and the Pac Northwest guys
April 8/9/10 - up through BC, Canada and into Alaska - bang around Alaska for a few weeks, meet up with SawyerC, AKCruiserFreak,
On the way to Cruise Moab, I'm going to try to go inland and hit the Edmonton Crew with RockDoc, and Acer and the Idaho guys
April ~29 - Cruise Moab
May - slow drive back to NYC, Kansas City with MWalls, plains, rockies, Montana (i think the most beautiful place in the US)
Etc. I'll update this thread with locations and plans, so if you want to meet up or join a meet, let me or one of the guys know, or just post up on here.
Again, thanks so much to all of you for the advice, help, and offers. Can't wait to wheel the country, meet some cruiserheads, and see what kind of Shenanigans we can get into.
