Im takeing a long weekend trip through the cove with some guys from the Upstate Cruisers March 23rd thru 25th anyone want to join in?

Well, fewer UC'ers than originally planned, but I was the ring-leader of that group. Now it looks like just a few guys from Atlanta will be coming up...me, Daniel, Andrew & James and Steve from Memphis. We're planning on getting to Jasper around 10:30am CST on Friday. Steve and Andrew will be the afternoon arrivals (4-5pm).
Arrrgh. Hey andy its Colin. Id love to make a run of this kind as I discussed with you at SETO, but im headed to Harlan the weekend after and cant do both. But keep in touch, Id love to make this run one day.

Jeeper and I tried to run the Cove Yesterday and were turned around on the Coppinger Cove Rd entrance due to high water and were also turned around off Pryor Ridge Rd due to a gate. We eventually went in off Greentown Rd. We settled to just go down eat some lunch and then run back up Parson's Pass. Good times. I hope the water is not too high for you guys that weekend. However you may have higher vehicles so it won't matter. We were in 2.5" lifted FZJ80s on 33"s.

Elbert, you planning on trying to go in with them Friday? I don't want to break up the group, but I'd love to have another rig with me on this trail north of Gurley that I'm hitting Friday morning. Looking at a map, it'd seem that's the way you'd go to The Cove anyway; wanna see a new spot and ride in with me and Andrew (pillguy) that evening to meet everyone?
hey Andy, it looks like we can come up Friday night and camp if that would be better than trying to meet up Saturday morning? i've got two other coming with me (bronco guys).

The UC group is meeting at 10:30am central at the BP station in Jasper. If you want to meet at the shop that will be fine as i will be there until the last minute.

it would be better if we can get your group to come in fri with steve and andrew. they have both been there before and andrew has a ham so theres a better chance he can reach me by radio.

sk8salomon, Andrew and I are tentatively planning on meeting at Andy's shop between 4 and 6 PM Friday.
The weather looks to be a big determining factor now. I certainly don't want to miss the 2nd Cove trip in a row, but the following two weekends are wheeling trips too and I'm out of free fuel at the moment and don't want to waste it to get rained out.
Andy, I'm sure I've asked before, but you don't happen to have contacts/hookups anywhere around you that I could pick up their used oil while I'm there? Any auto shops you're in good with? Could be a finder's fee if you can find me something good.
Looks like I may be the sole attendee representing UC on this trip - Marshall and JP are out. I guess I'll just meet Andy at his shop after gassing up at the BP Friday morning. I'm planning on coming up rain or shine, but it would be a heckuva lot more fun if the rain holds off or just passes quickly.
i'm keeping an eye on the weather. let you know for sure later in the week. BMThiker sent me an awesome map where you guys will be (thanks Rick) so i'm hoping to be there Friday night before dark.
Same for me - watching the weather. Want to come REAL bad, but many factors are still up in the air. :/
