I went with morimoto xenons in the OEM projectors and they are glorious. I can actually see at night!

But correct me if I’m wrong…. The issue with LED bulbs is only with reflector housing, not with projectors…?
Yes, LED bulbs in reflectors is much more of an issue, at least to my understanding.

Someone said that the hotspot of the LED lights is too much in the foreground and not high enough. It should be right under the cut-off.

Yo! How are the rear coil springs riding compared to the air springs?

Combined with 5100s, I think they ride a little stiffer than stock. Not as cushy as the stock air springs but very small difference that's hard to notice.

It does feels more stable on the road now but I think that was because the stock shocks were very worn. No more pogo-ing after bumps, especially mid corner. The new trailing links probably help with the stability too.

HNY!

Cool. Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully the 5100s will soften up a bit.

Still planning to run the air springs on my rig. Looking for some coil dealz for backup just in case the air components take a dump.

I ordered the DV8 cargo net replacement awhile back but I finally had the time to install it.

much nicer than the saggy net.

Might have picked up a new track toy that I can tow with the GX (one day):

1989 325i. 1 owner. Automatic but that won't be a problem with my plans for it.

Changed out the interior door lights, front map lights, the 2nd row dome lights, and the rear cargo interior lightbulbs with LEDs.

I originally bought 6000K bulbs for the overhead lights but returned them as soon as I tried it out. Too harsh for interior lights. I found 3000K bulbs that were softer but still brighter than the OE incandescent bulbs.

I kept the 5000K interior door bulbs for visibility and safety.

I am with you two^

I can see the road much much better and do not get flashed with LED bulbs in the factory housings.
It has projector lenses. It’s not as if it’s a standard/traditional housing that sprays light in every direction.

Did you buy a kit or separate bulbs? Have a link?

3/21: Oil change at 165k. I made an absolute mess when the oil jug slipped, spilling about 0.25qt of oil all over the front of the engine  . I tried washing it but it's still slowly dripping out the bottom cover. i'll probably spray some Simple Green down there then flush it out.

I haven't done much with the GX in a while. It's just chugging along.

I did start working on the E30. I'm about midway through manual swapping it. the rear cargo area of the GX is currently stuffed full of E30 parts and tools.

Lol nice, I use my GX as a tool shed at times as well.

No biggie on the oil spill but It would be good to degrease ans wash asap. I usually keep a can of that foaming degreaser on hand when doing oil change. After change I spray down ans clean around filter and any spillage ans then rinse with jug of water or hose

yeah, i cleaned up as much of the oil as i could using Gunk engine degreaser. There's little to no more dripping off now but i do like how nice and slick the engine looks now haha

coming home from a fun range day, I got the dreaded P0418.

Being in CA, I wished I could do the by-pass but doing the actual replacement job is also an opportunity to change out the starter.

Does Cali do a visual inspection under the hood or just an OBD check? I'm wondering if you could get away with it . In NJ, we get just an OBD check and an underbody photo without an engine bay inspection so not a problem for the SAIS bypass. I've passed a couple inspections without issue after install.
