What's funny is that I didn't even SEE @medtro And @Saddletramp sneaking up on me in the carpool lane because I was mesmerized by that Kokopeli Camouflaged 100 series!

no pics... I know, I know.

1. Gray 80 heading north on Kyrene to Warner. Not supped up, just regular good condition looking, classic, nice 80. Waved back and forth. Friday am at 730 or so.

2. Gray and black 80 - two tone, half and half, with rather more than average, serious looking rack. Quick pass, hard to tell what else. On warner / ikea turn off. Round same time.

Recently, given all the LC's I've seen, that are somewhat kitted etc, and looked to be used, surprised more don't surface as new faces around here. The population of LC's to EVERYTHING else (specially jeeps and new taco's / 4 runners / Tundras is a couple drops in the bucket. I wave to all LC's. Most if notice, waive back.

The numbers are shocking if compared to the modern toyota's / jeeps and all other "off road" sold new. Some very capable and nice but how will they be at 200k + miles? I can't speak for the actual numbers below, but probably a good ball park.

Nice '73 FJ40 next to me at Costco the other day

The horrendous bike carrier on the front would be a good place for him to start! Hahaha!

It's not a bike carrier. It's the extremely rare Ural Mountain 1F PTO manual engine crank. Seems to be missing the wheel ramps to allow for clearance on the 180 rotation needed. Must have been a gray market import. :)

Or its one of those new e-conversion retro cruisers for using on the Phoenix light rail line. Attach the trolley pole to that, and then you can use the starter motor to run the flywheel. It also works as a heat sink so that the starter doesn't overheat and melt as rapidly.

Q up @Living in the Past to tell us what is not right with it!

Not sure if it's legal driving with bikes mounted to the front like that. Not sure what is hanging off the bottom of the bumper. Looks welded and runs down to the shackles. Paint on the top doesn't quite match. Appears to have some rust. The hold is from a 75-77.

Did anyone on here drive the front way to Crown King yesterday? Husband and I spotted an FJ40 yesterday. It had a white hardtop and fenders, and brown quarter panels. I couldn't get a picture. Whoever it was, was surrounded by a bunch of jeeps, parked at one of the first staging areas just off I-17.

He was the designated Jeep rescue vehicle

Probably someone on here but I had a view of this gorgeous 60 series outside my office window for a couple of hours today. Location is south Scottsdale area. My crappy cell phone picture doesn't do it justice.
