Oh he must be replying to that AI bot that I blocked. @hoser he’s saying the 250 is more capable than the 200, I think it would be fair to share this Dan Edmunds articulation data and photos with our AI bot friend - he can’t see my posts. The 200 has more articulation even with the 250’s sway bar disconnected.

here's a Japanese video of the 200 vs 250 driven by the same professional driver for fairness sake. The 250 smokes the 200 off road.

@Knowbuddy Arguing with Nocturnal is indeed pointless. You failed to read the title of this thread. What do you want to talk about, your favorite LC250 color?

Is this an “A Few Good Men” reference?

You’re right my HJ61 is better than both. Like I said this is a dumb argument from both sides.

Sorry, I was replying to Nocturnalemissions. Those are Motor Trend figures but not from one article.
@hoser Oh man. This AI Troll is still going around his own tail here? I have told you all, the best medicine is ignoring him. Works wonders for me and I can’t see any of his delusions. Just let he run around his own tail here over and over to justify his purchase of the new 4Runner disguised in Prado skin. The guy is so pathetic he created a thread and since nobody bothered to reply, he went ahead and kept replying to himself there, not once but twice. Maybe even more. I mean. It’s just epic man.

Both you and him are trolls. Move on and quit being such an a$$.

@Knowbuddy I don't think you know the definition of a forum troll. I'm not baiting anybody. I'm only correcting wrong statements. I've met and helped a lot of folks on this forum.
Do you want a pin that says good job? The person you are arguing with is a troll. The people agreeing with you are trolls. All for real information but trying to make a point with either is pointless.

Don't apologize to me, apologize to yourself for being a hypocrite.
lol ok champ I apologize to myself. Happy?

Back on topic j250 is a great platform. Does it have faults yes. Do previous generations and other families also have faults also yes.

My biggest gripe with the 250 is the lack of range which is also my gripe with my 200. I was hopeful for a range monster out of the 250 to explore my home state of Utah in all its beauty. Not opposed to carrying Jerry cans but still seems criminal to not have improved range.

What I like about the 250 is its low end torque which is an aspect I loved about the imported diesels I’ve owned and the land cruisers I’ve been fortunate to have driven outside of the USA.

It’s a new platform and I’m excited to see where it goes and what it can do. Timing was off for me to pick one up which I fully intend to do. Haven’t decided whether I’ll get a gx550 or a 1958. I know they are opposite sides of the spectrum. But having been around both you can’t go wrong in my opinion.

I agree and most people agree, the 250 does not have enough range. Nor does the 200. That's why I have an aux tank on my 100 and another tank enroute for my 200. My diesels are fine. I do like the low end torque of the 250 but it is not endless. It's limited by battery power. It can't chug along at 1600 RPM like a turbo diesel.

I do think it’s more useable torque than previous Land Cruiser offerings in the USA. But I agree it’s not infinite. I’m also in the minority in that I’ve always thought 200s were too big. I was hopeful that the 250 would be more in line with the size of previous 100s I’ve owned hell I’m actually a sucker for the size of my 60.

But I am still miffed we can’t buy a larger tank as an option here in the USA without resorting to aftermarket. The reason I’m hesitant to do one on my 200 is then I’ve gotta factor in relocating the spare and I’ve always ended up loathing rear bumpers. To quote the movie tommy Boy “you have to open them”

I agree, but I think Toyota has pledged to absorb the tariffs and not pass them onto the dealerships/customers, which is remarkable. There must be some jaw-dropping margins in these vehicles for them to make that commitment. Of course, they could change their mind.

Toyota’s highest margins are on everything that say “Land Cruiser” on them. Always has been, always will be.

At least here in the USDM.

I may be perceived as a troll, When I got here I was hoping to be welcomed into an awesome community. Instead, I was met with hostility and mocked for owning a 250 by some 200 series owners (most of you know which ones they're usuals) claiming it wasn't a true land cruiser etc etc you know the deal. (BTW that behavior should be stomped out.) This forum has very valuable members like jetboy/ogbeno that offer solid information. I've been using ih8mud for over a decade before I made an account for a source of information & they have made some very solid points I've read across the years. Then, you have your condescending trolls that take any chance they get to put down the light duty land cruiser series and mock it and their owners for making the purchase, it's really disgusting, I'll admit I took the bait and fought back against these trolls using their own methods but the cost was sinking to their own level for that I apologize. I'm here for the valued members and I don't count these condescending ahem barnacles as apart of this ship.

Why is that? Do you end up in Stock midsize otherwise and is that a no-man's-land with no competition?

Tire size is now limited to production size, so 33” for a 250 or LX600, tough to finish the race let alone try to win. More troublesome is the new wheelbase requirements. Stock Full (which the 200 and/or the LX600) have been racing in for the 13? years, now requires a minimum wheelbase of 130”, so basically all full size SUV’s are out.

So one could race the LC250/GX550 in the Stock Mid, but Maximum track width is 67.3”?!?

The rules are quite friendly for a Raptor or Bronco Raptor. Turns out Ford is a big SCORE sponsor as of late and contributed to the new rules.
