From the Associated Press:

"For many men, a finding by Oregon researchers sounds too good to be true: an ingredient in beer seems to help prevent prostate cancer, at least in lab experiments.
The trouble is you'd theoretically have to drink about 17 beers a day for any potential benefit. And no one's advising that.
Researchers at Oregon State University say that the compound xanthohumol, found in hops, inhibits a protein in the cells along the surface of the prostate gland. The protein acts like a switch that turns on a variety of cancers, including prostate cancer."

".... Atkins noted that drinking 17 beers a day can lead to alcoholism and cirrhosis of the liver ...."

So we gonna be alcoholics with bad livers .... but By Gawd we gonna have healthy assholes. :grinpimp:

Can you pass me a beer please?

:bounce: :bounce2:     :bounce2: :bounce:

So, if yer larger that the average bear, will 17 beers be effective enough to ward off the prostate cancers?

It is also known that frequent ejaculation (ie. daily) helps prevent prostate cancer. Therefore the healthiest a****** is one drinking beer and beatin his meat.

T-shirt material for sure! You guys ain't right!

Yesterd'y mornin' at 0700 Eastern, I eased on out to the Ol' Company Truck and U-Haul trailer (full of bounty for the Reunion  ) in Wilmington, NC.

Scratched 'er behind the driver's side mirror lil' bit ... leaned over and planted a big ol' kiss on 'er hood ... patted 'er on the tailgate ... and asked 'er to get me the fawk home!!

In fine form, she galloped right steady ... but pullin' that cart sure made 'er thirsty ... had to stop 5 times for fuel.

Was plannin' on givin' 'er a rest somewhere along the way ... but just weren't no stoppin' 'er. She hit the TX border and there weren't no doubt she could smell the barn By Gawd. I gave 'er the reins on the home stretch on them two lane roads ... think the cart even went up on two wheels a time or two.

19 hours and 1235 miles later ... she pranced up to the 3X's with pride.

Damn good to be home. :bounce: :bounce2: :bounce:

10-day forcast for the Reunion shows highs in the low 90's and low's in the upper 60's. Damn chilly for that time of year Folks. :grinpimp:

It's June 26th and we're still under a fireworks restriction.

It may be time to write your congressman, folks. A fireworks restriction during the first annual White Trash of the Elwood Chapter Family Reunion just ain't acceptable, and I know we have enough clout to change things! :D

I'm bringing 200 glow necklaces and bracelets. The kids will have fun no matter what.
HTH

Happy Trails! N
