It has got some leaves taken out and does flex OK. Height wise I am guided by Matt Mcinnes who likes them lower to keep centre of gravity down. I am about to do a 60 series power steering conversion from the oem power steering it has now though, gods knows where I start

Ok first up you need to buy a 60 series or 62 series power steering box + 2 60/62 series top arms and last but not least a 75 series tie rod and drag link.

Don't worry about the pump they suck my 2c. GM is a better option.

GM pump - yes
60 series power steering box - yes
60 top arms - yes (But aren't they a bit different than 40)
75 tie rod and drag link - no (have 60 bits though)

what about the column, I Have one out of a 60, any use?

Column maybe of help,

60 series linkage is too wide hense the 75 series narrower wheel base much closer to the 40's

Looks like a fun rig, dents are just signs of experience!! That's my excuse anyways. Nice write-up as well. Mine's next, should get it posted tomorrow or the next day, hope you like it.

ive got 60 power steer on the cards too BJ, to replace factory power steer.. didnt yours come with power steer from the factory?

my power steer pump is like a sieve it needs a rebuild before i go the 60# gear.. got a 55 column care of Bad_Region_au which was muchly appreciated.. personally delivered all the way from SA!!

just need to get the diff bits and steering arms.. a bit apprehensive doing it on my own but reckon it should go ok.. want to put in ford shock towers while im there but need to source some.. (and bilstiens at the same time!!

oh well. the list is always there.. so it can wait till when the cash is there so i can afford to do bits..

i also notice on your most recent pix theres a distinct lack of barwork.. maybe some of that will help keep the body a bit straighter??
