I have two sets of glass stacked on the loft area of my shop. I put a sheet of cardboard between each piece. Windshields are wrapped in old quilts and by themselves.

Wrap in cardboard and store upright.

All glass is stored upright and separated in glass shops that I've seen. Stronger on edge than in the flat.
