Can't tell from the pics exactly, but it appears you are using the FJ55 shifter. If so, you can move your shifter back about 3-3.5 inches by substituting the top plate and shifter from an FJ60 4 spd. Direct bolt in and it could create room between the front of the a/c and the shifter boot. You'd have to mod your tranny cover and change backup light switches.
