Uh, Turbocruiser have some news for you. Just yesterday we dyno'ed a 93 with supercharger on a 4wd dyno in Parker.. Had on 35's and 4.88 gears. Results are pretty sad. Turbo going to replace supercharger.

So, call me and I will tell you where to take your truck to get the corrected wheel hp.

So yer sayin its more or less than that or that that was the engine HP not wheel HP??? Got that number from the for sale section on yer site!!! Please correct me if'n i'm wrong. And if its not 375 wheel HP, and if this 4wd dyno in Parker is capable of tuning as well as testing, is this the right time to install the UniChip i have sitting in storage to get that extra HP??? Thanks man as always!!!

This truck is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic shape. All maintenance on the truck has been done in the last 5k miles, including complete front and rear axle services.

With the Safari Turbo this truck has about 375 hp and 425 ftlbs of torque. Truck gets about 16 mpg with 1/2 in-town and 1/2 open road driving.

Turbo, unless a manufacturer puts "whp" after their numbers, unfortunately its usually going to be power at the engine. So when you bought the turbo kit, you put it on without the chip?

I'll look into those specs on the aluminum radiator for you, I would imagine that the capacity should stay the same, I dont think anyone has measured the temp difference yet, and personally I would probably do a better cap. I did just get a PM however from someone with this radiator, stating that he had a hard time fitting it in perfectly. There was a gap between the radiator and the shroud, and some of the fittings did not match up perfect. I'll update everyone if I find out any more info.

Safari's numbers were never that high, more like 320-330 hp and 400ftlb. The injectors can only flow enough fuel to handle about 350 HP(according to RC Eng)at 43psi. Either need a different injector or a rising rate pressure regulator to flow more fuel through the injectors to handle the higher HP with out running lean. later robbie

This month's issue of HotRod has a short tech article on aluminum vs brass radiators. Good info and a good cut away picture of a 2 row aluminum vs 3 (or 4, can't remember) row brass. The pic does a good job of illustrating the surface area improvement of the 2 row aluminum version.

So in other words, false advertising? :)

You watch yer mouth meeeester, just joking, found out today that the 375 was based on the fact that Safari's stats accurately rate at around 325HP at the crank with 5PSI boost. My rig's runnin 7PSI and the approximation of 375 reflects the extra 2PSI. I think that the PO provided the approximation, not Slee, but I think the approximation is accurate (at least at the crank not necessarily the wheels, apparently the drivetrain takes a terrific punch of power out of our 80 series HP numbers regardless of SC or TC due to AWD, driven transfer design, etc etc etc). So no one, not Slee, not me, not Safari false advertised! Also as always the fine folks at Slee were super helpful and have provided the phone for the fella in Parker who has worked the AWD dyno as well as a source for superior UniChips with superior UniChip software to go with!!!!!! I'm giddy girlish with excitement at this point as the tuning thing was always extremely elusive due to the terrible reliability of the old UniChip and/or the old UniChip software. In the next two to three months I'm gonna go get the dyno run and start with that stat while taking the tuning to the next levels. Wish me luck!!!
