my shops a littlle snowed in right now:mad:

Finally did got a little time to work on this last weekend, but work exploded in my face again, so might be after christmas before I get back at it. Anyway cut down a tree to do some axle stands, red neck style, took off more crap off the frame to get ready for sand blasting, and bought one of those stove top fans which keeps the stove side of the shop more tolerable, and the far side a lot less cold.

Final two, got the body up off the frame, still need to get some buddies over to get the body totally off and then the frame can be draged out.
Cheers,
Deny

did some more last weekend, cleaned rest of frame of bolts and rusty crap I won't need. jacked up body some more to get 4x4 posts resting on frame. Now all I have to do is take the suspension apart, drop the frame and I can pull it out for sand blasting. I might wait till spring to get it sandblasted though, cause I can just see the sand blasting place spraying it with primer in -30.

Can you get it galvanized?

PS, I figured out the relays - thanks for your help/

Louis

I don't know probably not in this town, would have to take it down south somewhere.

No Problem.

Oh and also thought I would post up this little beauty that I got for the truck over Christmas, thanks Greg and Sheldon:

Now the entire drive train is all old school, as in pre-2000 when cruisers went to the different axles and tranny. Still don't know what I will do with the old drive train, either sell it, keep the engine like spare/parts, or put the engine into a future project.

Cheers,
Deny

What's the state of the old drivetrain? I thought it was 1HZ-H55F as well, wasn't it? Just tired?

1HZ - 1Rsomething tranny. No not really tired, just needs some work, like a major cleaning, painting, checking over, and BEB since I am going to turbo. That said, I don't really know much else, would have had to do possibly the injectors, clean up the pump....who knows, I don't really have much time for that now adays, and I wanted the H55F, and the GandS combo had pretty much everything that I wanted and ready to bolt up the turbo. will save me a bunch of time. If I do decide to sell, will give the buyer a bargain, since all that work still needs to be put in, but even if I do sell, probably won't be till spring, when I have some time again(hopefully!)
Cheers

If you decide to sell, let me know and I'll give it some thought.... One trail/winter beater and one clean summer truck would be a sweet combo.

I have a few pics, will post them up, this weeks been busy. But I tore the rest of the suspension off, now the frame is sitting on axle stands and the body up on wood blocks. Now it is totally apart. I guess here starts the build up?

here are the pics I promised. frame on axlestands, tub on wooden stumps. oh and took a pic of the worst of the rust on this truck, I will be replacing both rocker panels.

Plugged away a bit on it this weekend, started cleaning up the under side. 1st pic dirty, 2nd pic grime cleaned off but some kind of oily undercoat left behind in a few areas, 3rd pic after a bit of scrubbing with mineral spirits and wiping down. once I get the entire underside, will try and clean it up better, especially at the joints.

Looks good Deny! That rust doesn't look too bad, inner rocker looks fine. Good choice lifting the cab off the frame.

Yeah figure it won't kill me, will add a bunch of time to the project, but hopefully it will be the last time I have to take this thing apart, not like my 42;)

that was my idea

I'll be in town on saturday, might even bring an 8pak:beer:

hey! you finally bit the bullet! i seem to remember pushing you to pull the cab as well. Good choice. That low k drivetrain and 55f is looking pretty killer. keep up the good work and don't make me come up there and crack the whip!

Yeah I bit the bullet, this will be my first frame off, guess the next ones will be easier now. yeah, I want to get it atleast running and able to move around the yard by this summer. But feel free to crack the whip any time on here;)
