Neel help with H55F swap, with new T-case, and clutch replacement.
Is there an install manual or thread that will help step me through a h55f swap on my '87. The shop price is really steep and I'm confident I can get the job done with the right instructions and expertise on here.

Absolutely, email the shop and ask Olly to send over instructions for the H55F/split case assembly. info@cruiseroutfitters.com

I put a H55F and split transfer case in my FJ40 behind my Cummins R2.8.
It installs just like the 4 speed and I used my 2F flywheel so I got a HD diesel military spec Toyota clutch from TT through Georg. But an 11” Toyota clutch is fine.
The shift tower is farther back then it is on the 4 speed unless you can get a FJ40 top cover.
I found a removal floor cover that we will graft to my transmission cover to solve the shifter problem.
The H55F will bolt up to either the 2F or 3F bell housing.
The output flanges are ~3” farther back so the rear drive shaft needs to be shortened and the front lengthened accordingly.
