Woodruff key Placement (1 Viewer)

Ok Ive marked everything Ive read and re read everything Im pulling my sttering box and pump tomorrow to replace with remanned from rock auto, one question I cant figure out is where does the "woodruff key" go? the shaft on the pump is tapered and keyed already, so is this still needed? It came with new pump. and Is mentioned right away in FSM

The key you're looking at on that shaft is a Woodruff key. They may have had a second one in the box. It appears to already be installed.

If you want to check, remove the key that is installed to make sure it's not leftover from someone else's core. Install the new one.
