This is a continuation conversation that rudely interrupted The Great Him's build thread "Wheel in Luxury-a GX470 build"

Basic idea is stereo typing a "wheeler" in a luxury vehicle ... and rubbing it in the face of a Judgement as you crawl on by them ... Like a Sir

If you have story ... share it! ... its just for silly

THE CONVERSATION:

LOL ... Im starting to think we should plan a gx-po (GX+Expo get it? ;) ) somewhere between Louisiana and California ... we have three here on Mud just in Baton Rouge ... #woodgrainwarriors !

I'm planning a traverse-Utah trip in June 2016 - maybe somewhere around there?

i was thinking more like New mexico ... are there expedition roads to cross the four corners ... i don't go west or north much

WGW is hilarious lol

t-shirts and stickers can be made ... then its an official club

Best story I have following that thought process:

I took the GX across Poison Spider Mesa in Moab. As I round a corner a Jeep is rolled on a steep drop off. I drive down, holding a starbucks cup, and ask them where the outlet mall is.

Priceless :p

Did the same thing at golden mountain park as well. It may be my tag line :p

haha those are great!!

HA HA ... great window sticker

Love it! I'm using that on my facebook

I can see about getting some decals made!

I'd sport it

I kinda want to put one of these on my truck...have been thinking about it since my LX450 days.

JLee, I like your style, that meme guy with wood grain warriors spelled out underneath in wood grain for the decal hahah yes!

The more I think about it this GX is only the intro into my pompous wheeling days lol. I can remember as a kid in highschool thinking about how much fun it would be to be in a brand new range rover or G wagon or touareg and be driving through the "gate keeper" on the rubicon, just dragging it and giving zero ducks and just pulling up to some shirtless pot-bellied beer guzzling guy whos completely trashed and asking him if he had any grey poupon (This was the time when their commercials were all over tv)... And the. Just power up my window and continue on as the rear bumper gets ripped off on some big rock... Oh to have such a disposable income lol.

But now with GPS and the increasing number of people getting lost out on back roads because their GPS said it was a "through road", i simply just ask "where is the Starbucks"? Or say "do you know where I am? I think I'm lost"... And just continue on, when I come to a group of people out in the woods.

Infact just the other weekend I was out with some friends exploring and we came to a place in the road where the road had been washed out and someone attempted to block the road off - very feeble attempt, a 2wd pickup could have bypassed. And there was no signs saying road closed etc. Anyhow was all went around and over the washout -it was very narrow and a little tricky, I would not have wanted to take anything bigger than the GX through it. Anyways as we gout up the road about a mile past this we ran into some people walking and picking berries. The loom of shock and bewilderment on their faces was priceless, and could only have been surpassed by the look on their faces had I not been with two nicely appointed jeeps with winches and they typical 4wheelers accessories. They seed to pay no attention to the jeeps but just stared at us in the GX with the most puzzled looks on their faces.

It reminds me of snow skiing in suits...

I had the same strange looks of confusion the day I showed up at tire and wheel shop in Baton Rouge ... I pull in the GX with an 8ft trailer full of off road tires 5 method wheel boxes ... told them I needed them mounted and balanced and I'd be back ... I show back up and the 5 brothas it took to do the job are using my wheels and tires as a make shift living room set ... so I walk up and they half way pay attention to me ... I say "so they ready?" ... one guy looks at me and says "say what these goin on?" ... "I said your lookin at it" pointing to the lexus.... they all busted out laughing at me "what!? you crazy" "they gonna fit?" "I got to see that main" "on a lexus?"....
