Nice work on the jack. As pictured, the body of the jack is not aligned with the base. Rotate the body clockwise, 1 screw position so it looks like this.

Could be your running board is a little high... Is it possible to lower it a skosh?
Yup I used the same rubber tape that I used for my gas tank. I put three layers at the front end and one layer at the back end so it is naturally angled. Thanks for the reminder!Just don't forget the rubber spacers to prevent capturing rust between the jack and the running board... and noise abatement.
Wow..spent the better part of this morning reading your thread. Very impressive work, especially considering you were not much of a "car guy" when you started. You have done a lot of what I need/plan/intend to do and the fact yours is a 74 as well makes it a great reference for me moving forward! Nice job!
