OK, last minitruck question for the day...:hillbilly:

In the midst of a wobbly shifter rebuild on the 92. Got the two new bushings.
Lower bushing was in two pieces and top bushing was an absolute mess, looked like coffee grounds.

Question (don't have an FSM yet) -

Do you have to lube the upper bushing with anything like grease or whatever ?

Looks like it's made with two different types of material bottom is rubber(only thing left from old one) top part looks like a slippery type of plasticky rubber that appear to be glued together.

Just put the set that you have in and don't sweat it. I don't know which transmission is in your 92 so I couldn't tell you which one to use from Marlin. I don't recall any choices when I bought mine a couple of years ago but maybe there were.

Yeah , I guess you're right.
Right away when you pointed to the HEAVY DUTY parts I got all nutty and got a case of Iwantit.

The oem ones I got should last me the rest of the truck's life and if not, I know there's another option now.

Yes, that disease seems to run rampant amongst us at times!

At least you know how to install the top bushing now, upside down and then rotate it around the pins. I imagine you could scratch your head over that one for a while or at least you could with the Marlins because they won't compress enough to install otherwise.
