I received my insert and yes it is very difficult to get the shelf in lost of scratches . Has anyone else found out the button head screws don't fit the threads on the captured nuts?

They simply will not screw in from the inside . From the outside the screw only goes in half way.

Due to fat fingers I screwed rears from the outside all the way flush. Tight fit so it wont move given the application. Fronts screwed all the way in from the inside. Aside from fat finger issues- pull sides apart when inserting to line up screws. I used smaller longer screws to keep things aligned as I was screwing in the shelf. The PC covered up my interior scratches so no problem there.

I had the same issue with the shelf being too tight. I figured that I would never take the shelf out so I had it powder coated after I put the shelf in. I think it came out really good. I'm in the middle of a 2FE conversion so I now have a great spot for the new ECU.

If you're using the 3FE ECU it should bolt in under the glove box as it would in a FJ62.
