Install of my Gamiviti Roof Rack went off without any drama.
I was very careful not to lose any of the factory captive bolts in the rain gutter.

I put an extra helping of dynaflex around the holes prior to attaching the new rack towers.

I am really excited about having this rack on my truck. This rack seems very well constructed. I like the low profile and love the way it looks. Thanks @nakman for such a great product.
Hey right on, thanks for the support! build looks awesome!

I drove over to the local dealership to see what was going on with the Heritage center caps. They are very different from the TRD center caps we use when making the trd pro wheels out of tundra rims. I don't know how to articulate this... Everything outside of the black ring is wheel.

The cap is an insert made up of three parts. The black ring, the bronze ring, and the toyota plate. So I ordered one and took it apart.

The black part went into the trashcan. My plan was to use the bronze ring and the toyota plate from these caps to make a center cap that looked as close to oem as possible.
Nice work.

How did you get these apart? I want to disassemble (for TRD Pro BBS), paint the bronze a different color and put back together.

I 'm not sure I can offer much help here. I'm think I broke tabs taking them apart. I had no intention of putting them back together. Of the three parts of the cap, I only used the gold rim and the toyota plate. Epoxy worked for me and they are still in one piece. If I recall, there were plastic tabs connecting the large black base to both the gold ring as well as the toyota plate, and the toyota plate had to be removed first. Good luck with the project.

Note: you could get the rings hand painted, but it's pricy.

Very helpful. I'll break one apart based on your feedback, adjust and repeat. I'll spray paint rings and try to paint brush the Toyota logo by hand.

Super job on the wheels. that Is some amazing problem solving for the caps and they turned out great.
having done water inside, are you planning to put it up on the rack or underneath somewhere for the next iteration?

Again, my memory could be wrong about what clips to what. One more thing.. like a dumb a$% I made 5 because I had 5 wheels and just bought 5 tires. The spare obviously doesn't need a cap. So now I've just got an extra.

Hey thanks! I need to post something about what I'm doing with water now. Wasn't interested in the idea of weight up top. I looked hard at underneath. If you don't relocate the spare your looking at 12.5 gallons, as much as 3k and you still have to fill a fixed tank on the road. My current setup is using 2 jerry cans stored in the truck, and a pump box that I put together. I gave up some water capacity in exchange for flexibility, space, and reduced risk of a leak. I have pressurized water at camp and can take a hot shower. I will try to get something posted soon.

Yep, I bought 5 centers as well. However, I'm getting a Slee rear bumper this summer and will move the spare to that and can use the 5th center cap.

To disassemble the caps, I took a Dremel to the back side tabs (the narrowest ones) and grinded flush. The black center portion with TOYOTA will come right off. The bronze ring can then be removed by pressing the wider tabs inward. Used a can of spray paint on the rings and hand painted the TOYOTA lettering.

Put a ceramic coating on the wheels to make it a little easier to clean.

Thanks for your inspiration on the wheels and great info on your build Well done!

Try this again... Well Done. The wheels look great! Are you going with black lugs or silver?

Overall I was happy with the way they turned out. In my opinion, they are different without looking janky, and I got my bronze wheels on a budget. I love them.
I ordered some black lug nuts off ebay and had my local dealership (@Eric Sarjeant at Ed Martin) install the new tires and wheels.

Every photograph looks slightly different due to lighting... but you get the idea.

These rims look fantastic.

For my budget communications setup I run a Ham Radio all the time and GMRS when needed. I hold an amateur radio license. True hobbyists would probably prefer that I say I am an Amateur Radio Operator and hold technician class.

This is my simple budget Ham radio setup:

Radio = BaoFeng BR-F8HP

Mic = a commountain heavy speaker mic

Power cord = Btech BL-5 Battery Eliminator

Antenna Mount: Diamond K412snmo lip mount.

Antenna Mount rain cap for the carwash.

Antenna : Comet SBB-5NMO 2m/70cm

Connecting the radio to the antenna: 6ft6ft RG316/U SMA Male to SMA Female WP-HST Both Ends 23316-SM-SF-6

On the radio for $275.

I did the ram ball in the console project and purchased a “universal metal holster mounting bracket for Baofeng UV5R & UV82 off of Ebay (I still need to paint it.)

View attachment 2319087

Did you put any sort of backing behind the console for the ram ball mount?

I used metal behind the console for support. iirc a washer didn't fit well so I drilled a hole in a small metal plate I had in the garage.
It was something like this.

After 6 months of internal debate I finally made a decision how I wanted to increase the stability in the back when fully loaded. My issue was that when loaded out, I felt very squatty in the back. I settled on a brand new oem suspension with spacers up front and ome 2720 springs in the rear.

A very big thanks to @Eric Sarjeant for hooking me up with someone else's take offs and his shop taking care of the install for me. I just can't say enough about Eric. He's a fantastic resource, and just an all around great guy.

Old Stuff coming off.

Measurements from center of cap to wheel well:

Before:
Front Right 19.75
Front Left 19.00
Rear Right 20.125
Rear Left 19.25 (I was on that lean)

After
Front Right 20.75
Front Left 20.50
Rear Right 21.75
Rear Left 21.75

* I am aware of the debate on combining aftermarket springs with factory suspension... but this was a relatively inexpensive option and I want the real life experience.
