Break lines bled nicely, find the leaks pretty quick when pressure is applied...once i nailed all those down it bled out nicely. Received new carb from Butch Baker, made a trip to Steve Cramers on the weekend for other stuff.... small parts are kicking my ass....good to have those 2 fellas so close.... Cleaned up exhaust manifold.... waiting on heat riser gasket... I ordered 2 from Spector, just to have an extra...never know....

Thanks Steve, no luck...... Mr Gasket is supposed to be here this week. I will give that a try and and if it does not work i will snag that one from ya.

Well, I dropped off the manifold with LAME over the weekend. He said the manifold material worked fine. No pics.... big test will be when I get the exhaust put in and fired up. Fingers crossed.... it all goes back in this week.... Also found a solution to the break master cylinder interference issue... new master from 60 series should do the trick... 40 was way to long, and that extra reservoir really hindered progress..

Mr Gasket. Before, and after. Pretty straight forward. Solid material. Manifold is hack together. Considering the costs this is a pretty good option. $7 bucks for material. 12 pack of beer for a persons with much more patience than myself to cut the gasket.

If that does not work, let me know. I have one hanging on my wall that I think may work. Was given to me by another mudder, when I had the problem. I ended up welding the hole closed. Is in my 68' link below.

Starting to run out of parts!! Should be able to crank it over this weekend.... the little things are holdin upi the show! Like, how to split manifold vacuum to power break booster....

Help section of the auto store.

Should be able to find a ' T ' fitting for this.

HA!!! "Winter" project my fat ass... Its JULY for cripes sake....

Lots accomplished this weekend. Work has me traveling for about 5-8 weeks so i was under the gun

Fired it up!! Carb needs a rebuild so off it goes to the carb shop....
Break "T" complete.... have vacuum for assisting the stopping process.
Reword the electrical connector at fender well. Not original i know.... $10 bucks at menards got me some fine connectors and its almost stock :-) Used the same bolt hole locations and all lights and turn signals work.... It was a mess... Cleaned up the rats nest that was behind the dash, re worked the fuse panel and tested all connections... simple is good. Everything functions. I mounted the new oil filter mechanism to the inner fender wall for now. Was the only place it could go with enough room to change filter from under the truck....

whats left? Exhaust, carb rebuild, alignment, interior... I ordered new seat covers and cushions....oh, and new break master cylinder.... Should be runnin down the road in the next few weeks.....

Cool part is, I dont get as dirty working on it anymore.... its very nice having a clean dry engine compartment to tinker on....

Came home from chicago to find new seat covers and cushions.... going to be hard to work today without sneaking out into the shop and putting these things on...

getting painfully close.....

What color seat covers did you go with?

Dark Grey. Jen said so :-)

Seats before and after.... Drivers side... still have to to do passenger side.... love the way they have turned out thus far...

Looks good, I might have to ask you to do mine when I get them. :)

Would be more than happy to Mike. I finished the passenger bench last night. The most difficult part is threading that damn string through the bottom seat cover.... patience.... but man, they look great.... were getting closer.....

Finally got some more garage time this week. I picked up the newly rebuilt carb on Monday.

Monday night i put the interior back in, seats, belts etc. Put the carb on and was getting itchy to fire it up. After messing with the timing it fired up, no exhaust!! Loud!! No fine tuning until i get the exhaust done.

When i depressed the clutch i got an awful noise. And the clutch is not "clutching".. Peddle does not feel right at all, so i bled the new master and slave cylinder, that did not help. I'm going to dig deeper tonight in an effort to find the problem. Ill have the wife press the clutch and i will measure the through. I am pretty sure the awful noise is coming from the through-out bearing. It only squawks when clutch is depressed....so i am getting some movement.

Good news.....the carb sure is perdy, as is the interior..... old F is fn loud without exhaust..... back at it this afternoon.....
