Will tires wider than 33x12.5 fit?

Hello, first post here! I've recently purchased a 2001 Land Cruiser and I'm in the process of tire shopping. I see tons and tons of discussions about what it takes to fit 35s and that, in general, 33s fit pretty easily. Also seems that a little bit of positive offset is the way to go with the wheels or maybe 0 offset at the most.
Which brings me to my question that I can't find the answer too. How wide can you go with the 33s? I've always thought wider tires looks better than taller tires. There's a handful of 33x13.50s out there as opposed to the usual 12.50 width. Anyone know if there's anything special you'd have to do to fit that size?

Edited your thread title so people can decide if they can help without having to click into the thread. Also, post the metric size you're looking at that's the equivalent of 33.13.5, that's more common lingo here when talking tire sizes.

My guess would be spacers for sure and would depend on the rim you intend to run. I run stock Tundra 20s with 305/55/20 on mine with no spacers, but next to no space between knuckle and tire at UCA. I also have my pinch weld completely removed, high clearance front bumper and my wiper tank cover trimmed so it helps with clearance. A 13.5 wide tire is a lot of meat to stuff under there. For context the 305 is just over 12.

I think the metric equivalent would be 340/50r20 roughly. But these are actually sold as 33x13.50r20.
Wondering if it makes sense to just use a 0 offset instead of spacers?

I may very well be trying to do something that isn’t possible. That’s why I came here to research before I spent the money.

What kind of shape are your rack bushings in?

I suspect you'd need to run spacers so as not to have the tire interfere with the UCA.

I feel like a tire that wide on a wheel that narrow might look odd, but I'd be interested to see it.

Shorter tires are easier to fit.
Lower offset is easier to fit.
Generally speaking, shorter tires with a lot of offset will be more difficult to fit than taller tires with low offset. Taller tires also work better, hence why you aren't finding what you're looking for here.

Bushings are in good shape, no issues there. I was looking at those wheels specifically simply because the blue color they come in are a close match to my LC.
