Just like the title says, will mini truck 15" rims fit my BJ74? :)
You know the ones. The OEM steelies from the 1980's.
Will they clear the calipers?
I also wonder how the backspacing would be as well.

I found some old ones burried in a pile of tires in our shed.
I would rather not dig them out, unless they are going to fit.

Thanks,
Nick

No, you can't

Look for 3.5" BS for your cruiser

If they're from a solid axle mini they will fit. The IFS has too deep of backspacing and will interfere with your TREs.

Yes, 99% sure they are from a solid front axle.
Me and my friends have had so many mini trucks over the years.
I am not sure what truck they came from.
They are my room mates. He said I could have them.

Cheers,
Nick

then just bolt them on and give it a try... if they don't fit you know where to return them...
;^)

I guess I will have to do that. :)
I was avoiding it.
They are on the bottom of a stack of tires in the back of our garage.
I will probably spend about and hour and a half digging them out and re arranging things.

Thanks,
Nick

They are not the correct backspacing. You can bolt up the rears up but the fronts are going into your caliper. You could shave the calipers to make em fit but they will look odd..

Hang on.. didn't stone have a set of spacers on there? If so then you should have no problem clearing the calipers.

We have a set of 5 JDM BJ71 15" whitespokes at the shop if you need some real cruiser wheels.

Real cruiser wheels? :)

Yeah, Stone did put 1" spacers on.
But I was going to take them off.
I am going to a 10.5 for the summer.
With the 1" spacer the will stick out to much (I will only run them in the winter).
Does your 15" BJ71 rims clear without spacers? If so, how much for the 5?

Cheers,
Nick

Ya, real as in correct cruiser backspacing.
The BJ71 white spokes are factory 70 series steel wheels.. they definately fit your 74 w/o spacers. $150 for the 5 rims.

1.5" bolt on spacers (steel I believe), with the 3.75" BS'd Toyota HD steel wheels, which put the wheels out 2.5" total overall (over stock), giving more stability. With this setup the 255/85R16's fit just inside the bodylines, keeping the CSV folks happy.

Measure the BS of the minitruck wheels. I bet as Sheldon says they will be 4" or more in BS, and you might have to run the spacers to make them work on the front. The rears will rub the inner wheelwell on articulation with the increased BS. I wonder if the minitruck wheels, with the 10.5" rubber, and the spacers would be just about right...

Right now the mini truck wheels have some bald 31x10.5s MT on them. I might just have to dig them out and find out. But it might now happen until spring.

Thanks for the help,
N.
