Anybody near Albuquerque want to let this gentleman measure your truck for a light bar? He makes some nice bars for 4th gen 4Runners and it shouldn't be too hard to have him adapt his design to the GX.

I just sent him a message asking g for measurements to see if these would fit. If that comes back good I will be ordering one to test fit for us and him to see if we have an option for the GX...

Sent from my XT1585

here is the light bar that I think I am leaning towards...Part light bar, part brush guard.

I just need to have it made from someone local. I'm planning two round lights mounted up top (I have Hella 500s but really like the ARBs) and my two Rigid D2 driving lights mounted in the lower corners. I have talked to few places, but still have not found who is going to make them for me. Unless one of these already exists for a GX...?

The light guard on the red truck is made by avid off-road. Give them a call the May be able to help you, nice truck by the way.

Any updates? Great Him, did he get back to you?
Sorry yeah I did and he emailed me back with measurements... But then I had back surgery and it kinda got put on the back burner and I just never got around to getting any further, especially as I can't really do anything right now anyways. I'll look through my emails and dig it up, it looks like it will fit. But my main concern is the distance between the front of the bumper and the back of the bar, and how closely it fallows the curve of our bumpers... As far as the frame mounts yes it should work, appears to work.

Insain Fabrication is now making the light bar mounts for the GX mine is a prototype and now they have the mount for production Below is a link for their web site ask to talk to Derick or email him through the web site. The production model will be a little higher, mine barely clears the wipers so adjutments were made to the production model.

Awesome! How's wind noise?

I don't have any noticeable wind noise the Lexus is probably the quietest best insulated car I have ever owned that may help. I have a ExtremeLED 50" curved bar and they have rubber isolators that slide between the fins if you are getting harmonic noise.

Excellent - thanks. My last truck had a platform rack which added a lot of noise - I'm going to try to keep the next one a bit quieter.

Thanks for the info on the light bar mount fabricator. I want to put a curved light bar on my white GX after i install the ditch lights and ARB bumper that will be here next week. I want a single row more subtle light bar on mine.

On a side note I purchased my ARB modeled bumper from SOFLO bumpers in Florida for $875 with fog lights and that was including shipping to Miami!! If anyone is interested in trimming their GX for a Prado 120 ARB style bumper for cheap check out Rocky on facebook at SOFLO bumpers. I will post pics of the install and finished product.

This Light Bar was fabricated by Paul Fox at Defiant Truck Products. Last time I spoke with Paul, he was selling his business or IP and designs to another company to produce. If you are interested I can dig up the contact info. The light bar is a beast. Not a bull bar. I had a Westin bull bar. This bar attaches with a solid plate to the frame. It is essentially an extension of the frame. Some folks have bought these bars so that they would have an tie down in front for carrying kayaks and canoes on top.

Great looking light bar. I have an 07, same color as your and would love to have a light bar on my truck like yours. I know it has been awhile but do you know there whereabouts of Paul Fox and Defiant Truck Products?

Happy New Years

Hello guys, I emailed Wilco Offroad about the Defiant Light Bar for the GX470 and their response was:
"Hey David,
Yes, we did use to make defiant lightbars but we discontinued them a few years ago.
However, we have had more interest in them recently and are having discussions about bringing them back if the demand is there.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

-Hunter"

Please email Wilco at : web@wilcooffroad.com to let them you are interested in the same Defiant Light Bar

well...its been a while on this one. I have contacted Avid by email and asked if they could do a bar for the lexus, but no answer (after the original answer a long time ago of "send me the pics and we'll see what we can do").
So yesterday I noticed my westin bull bar is rusting out, so I need to do something to replace it. I will try and contact Avid again, and was hoping someone could steer me to another person/company that could make one for me. Also, I someone could tell me if the mounting locations of the Tacoma avid bar would match my GX470, that might work too (I could even cut off the mounts and weld new ones on if it was close). Thanks all - Appreciate any suggestions.

Still no luck finding one... tried to contact avid again but no response. That’s too bad, their stuff looks great. At this point I might as well try and find someone who can bend/weld on Craigslist
