Ok, Whipsaw is only 2 weeks away and I missed the last meeting, so I'm kind of in the dark. From what I read in the minutes of the meeting it sounds like everyone is going to be doing the full trial?

Is anyone planning on heading to Lodestone? (Sounds like one of our members that normaly setup at Lodestone will be moving that weekend.)

Who's leaving Friday?
Who's leaving Saturday?
Where and when are People meeting?
Is anyone looking for a ride?

I expect to leave Vancouver Friday morning, Aug 3, with Gary T, if he can get that day off work. We plan do go the whole enchilada from the Whipsaw end all the way to Lodestone over the three days. First night just past the cabin with the grave, second night at Wells Mosquitoe Lake, and third at Lodestone. The only bummer is that we have to set camp 3 times.

Camp one at Cruiser Lake again Bill? Don't forget your tent :)

Yeah, that was pretty goofy of me to forget my tent last year. We had to sleep 3 or 4 in Gary's tent at Cruiser Lake, then over at Lodestone I think you slept in Rob's tent and I borrowed yours. Then to top it off, we had to impose ourselves on Traci's campsite and she likes privacy and hates kids. Then I remember somebody's dog, maybe Winston, went into Traci's tent and she went orbital! I always forget something, but not usually the big items like the tent. Anyway, thanks, and great moments to remember and laugh about around the campfire....

It looks like I am able to go for this trip. I can't get Friday off though. Who's heading out Saturday? Perhaps we can hook up so I know where to go. :)

Kim, I'm heading up first thing Saturday morning and know the way. It is just over a 3 hour drive from my place in Surrey to the trail head. If you would like to pick a meeting place down your way we can figure out a good time to meet. Going on our past history I was thinking if we got to the trail head around 9:30 - 10:00 we should be able to join the others as they are braking camp. If i remember correctly I think Cruiser Lake is under an hour away from the trail head.

I am wanting to join up with the Friday gang. Justin is riding with me...no teasing him now Dan!

Do we want to meet up in the valley some where?

Well from what I remember of that fun filled day with Brad tugging Granite Grinders 40 that same route (starting at Wells Lake), once it was up Falcon hill it wasn't too bad. But that was after 2 fried winches, Brad blowing some electrical, and probably numerous other things, and then finally getting it up to the top. Then Pete (Behemoth60) coming to the rescue and towing it the rest of the way.
I have some pictures I think somewhere, perhaps Bruce and the fabled Mr. R.A. Mullen have some memories/pics as well ?.

We did get it out though, and I do believe we still have a true motto of 'never having left a rig on the trail'. I also remember the surpised look on the tow truck drivers face when he was winching it up onto the flat deck in Coalmont and the tow trucks front wheels coming off the ground, "jeezus that things heavy" was his comment.

Gosh, I wish I'd seen that... wait a minute... no, actually I'm glad I missed it!
It cost me a winch motor and re-doing a throw out bearing, but I did get a beautiful Centerforce clutch (Thanks B)

IIRC Rob wrote the trip up for Toyota Trails - "Why I Hate the Whipsaw" or something. I miss his trail reports.

Sad to say my streak of "missing Whipsaw" is staying intact for about the 11th year running. Big surprise.
