Does anyone know what kind of plastic these interior trim pieces are made from (see photo)? This shot is from the rear of my 85 4Runner. I have the odd crack or two in one or two trim pieces and I would like to scab some plastic onto the back of the cracks to strengthen the area. I have tried a general plastic, 2 part epoxy resin but I'm not satisfied that it's the correct adhesive as it is possible to scrape off. It doesn't exactly flake off but it clearly isn't chemically bonding to the material.

The most likely candidates are: PP, ABS, PET, or PVC. I'm guessing some type of ABS but I could be wrong.

I know it's a long shot but thought I would ask before I start experimenting with different adhesive types.

When you find the right adhesive, use it with a fiberglass mat to bridge the cracks.

That's a good idea....and easier than finding a compatible plastic.
