I'm not very knowledgeable about these things and would like to know a lot more as I look into buying an HJ47. I would like to put a 12HT engine in one after I buy the HJ47 because I want something with a little more speed than a 2H for highway driving (I'd like to use it more as a daily driver and also I do not live that close to off-road areas). But I don't know how a 12HT interacts with different transmissions.
1. Would the 4-speed manual one the HJ47 comes with work fine with it or would it limit the upper speed and negate some of the reason for getting the more powerful 12HT?
2. If a 5-speed transmission would be much better, how would it be better exactly and I believe there are two main 5-speed transmissions, a H55f (or something like that) and another.
3. I also understand that a 12HT is pretty much a straight swap for the 2H but does that mean the ignition starter, alternator and those kind of things on the 2H would work fine with the 12HT?
4. And how does a transfer case come into the picture in all that?
