Which CV for rear driveline?

I need a CV joint for my rear driveline. It will be bolted to a 4sp t-case drum with the larger studs.

Which Toyota model should I be looking for?

Anyone got one for sale in the CA bay area?

any of the Toy CV's will work (some may require internal mods to make them deal with the angularity, like IFS mini fronts)

Most likely, you will need to redrill the pbrake drum for a new pattern, not a huge deal by any means..

Thanks Mace. I understood that there are different bolt patterns on the flange and that one of them matched the 4sp t-case drum. Is that incorrect?

I know I could redrill the drum, but would like to avoid that if possible.

Personaly, I have never had the luxury of the damn things fitting properly. So I am sorry if it is not as much of a help.

bj 60's from late 82 to 85 had the higher angle cv driveshafts in the front . How long is your rear driveline I have six or seven of them sitting in my shop That I'm not going to use . Send me $75 and I'll send you one .

MAKE SURE the joints are good....you can replace the u-joints in the CV, but Toyota does not sell them and aftermarket doesn't last...

the Precision joints I tossed in my rear CV lasted just about 24 hours....and trashed the entire CV beyond repair....lifetime warranty ain't worth squat when the shaft is junk too...

dont know about other years but 86 ifs front cv shaft has the same bolt pattern as the lc 4 speed and the yokes will interchange .my soa is 35 years old and the stock forerunner shaft almost bolted in with a fj40 yoke.it was about an in ch to long .since the stock d hafts have been in the truck forever i wouldnt have changed it anyhow i was bored and just curious to see what fit what good luck

I talked to Dave at Marlin's and he's sending me a clearanced '86 IFS CV that'll do the trick. The 10mm bolt holes on the flange need to be opened to 11mm but the pattern is the same.

These Bj's came with a 5 speed or a 4 speed ?. I know that these double cardan shafts are diferent lenghts from one tranny to the other. I can't remember, but I'm looking for a shorter version of the US 4 speed.

When I did my SOA, I bought a used 60 series from drive shaft and just bolted it in, I have no idea which one it was.
