I don't see you need a dual battery either. They are nice to have, but I don't think needed for your application.

Cappy - you own stock in that company? Sure its a good Dual battery setup, but everything you said it can do the other systems do as well. That price seems pretty high even for a kit. Have you posted your setup in the FAQ thread on Dual Batteries. There you show your installed system and why yoyu selected yours and then the reader can review yours along with others to make a decision.

Nope, I havn't installed it in the 80 yet. Write-ups / FAQ stuff was gonna wait until I do my ROTW write-up. I suggested it due to my past experience, but I will refrain from making specific vendor suggestions if it's an issue. Sorry

No issue cappy. Folks should feel free to talk about what they selected and why. I was just curious and ribbing you a bit:D

You could put in the FAQ section why you selected that system and what it does. That would help other potential buyers out.

I just thought that most of the systems do very similar things and there is usually one reason someone will select a system.

There are the basic systems you can select between one battery or the other

Then there are the isolator systems that will charge both batteries and isolate them if one starts to go down. They also allow you to tie them togethre (No auto function) for winching or have them isoloated (No auto function)

Again, feel free to talk about products you like. I keep pointing to the FAQ thread because thats where the discussions of systems are.

Boy, that's a chunk of change. I jammed the biggest NAPA battery in mine that would fit and have some 50% more cranking and storage power than the stock size for around $80. The other 80 has one of the top ranked batteries in it from a recent Consumer's Report test, which was around the same price and also increased the cranking amps way over stock. Dual batteries are nice, but there really oughtta be a specific need for one for that kind of money.
