Big Apple Inn on History Channel for Pig Ear Sandwiches right now.

Anyone ever been?

They have a hot sausage sammich that looks really good.....I gotta go check it out.

I use to get takeout there in the 80's. They bathed those pig ear sandwiches in hot sauce. I remember them being the hottest thing I had ever eaten. I would eat with the brothers in the shop. In the right season, we would finish those sandwiches off with a big ole watermelon.
There was a fish place up on Farrish as well. They put the catfish, fries, & hush puppies in a brown bag and poured hot sauce on top of it. Just a bag of HOT fried goodness.
I would have to go straight to Baptist today if I tried to eat either one.

I've been there once. I prefer Peaches down the street. Still soul food but closer to the way I ate growing up. I can do pan trout, ox tails or pig ear sandwiches but it's more of a novelty, or a wasted meal to use your term.

I was working with a guy from the DC area a couple of weeks ago. While in town, one of his FB fans from DC told him he had to go get a hot sausage sandwich from the Big Apple. He though his buddy was probably trying to send him to a gay bar, but apparently it's legit...said it was great.

Took dopey nephew to Ajax. The shrimp PO-boy there is really, really good.

Today, Tollesons and I had the Laid Back burger in Florence. It's damn good. My Jalapeño burger was Great.

Tough to beat some Pizza Den...unless you are in the ever so slightest hurry....then it's the most frustrating place you can go to. They are on their own schedule for sure!! As long as you don't have to be anywhere for 1.5 hours, its the best. Reminds me of hungover sundays and football on the couch!

Cassaitas restaurant and bbq is open on Lakeland across from Magnolia shopping center. It's a few doors down from Ceramis I believe. My wife said she thought there was a sushi place going in there too.

I thank Nolen for this, he sold his shop and maybe restaurants will start to pop up out my way.

May try it tonight

Mexican and BBQ are pretty much off my list here completely. It is not good. Some of the BBQ is OK, but I generally skip is since there is other food that is better.

Has anyone ever been to that little Greek place in Brandon next to the Kroger on Hwy 80 and Crossgates?

Kismetts is the place you speak of. Pretty good. Been a while since I 've eaten there tho. I forget it's there.

Kismet's...it's fair. I prefer Keifer's.
