We stopped by The Jellyfish on a tip from the Tolleson's while we were in Perdido (staying in a condo that was also a tip from the Tolleson's)... BillRiiiiiley ordered this bacon-avacado sushi thing as an appetizer. I don't know if it's considered sushi or not, but it was mighty tasty!

Bacon sushi [/end thread]

I will be stopping in Jackson on my way to the redneck riviera on Friday and was thinking about grabbing a burger at the Cherokee since I have read so much about them in this thread. Is the Cherokee kid friendly for an early dinner? I don't want the music to stop if I walk in the door with a kid. Thanks for your help.

Headed to Nashville this weekend to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary.

I plan to hit up Prince's Fried Chicken. Any other recommendations?

I've heard about Sushi Sam's. I've also heard about The Copper Kettle and The Pancake Pantry (name??). Any thoughts?

I would skip the Copper Kettle and The Pancake Panty, but that's just me.

San Antonio Taco Company near the Vanderbilt campus.

Loveless Cafe is good for breakfast.

Along with Prince's, you could go on a hot chicken/fish rampage and also hit Bolton's Spicy Chicken & Fish. Also Eastside Fish.

I swung through Oxford and grabbed a couple of Stromboli sammiches from Pizza Den yesterday.

Truly the best sammich on earth.

Love that place. Can't be in a hurry though or you will leave with nothing to eat!

We ate at Anjou tonight. It was good not great. The prices were decent but it will be hard for me to drive past several good restaurants to eat there again. The menu sounded awesome, but the execution lacked a bit. The beignet with feta dressing appetizer sounded spectacular but when it came out it was a zucchini bread hush puppy. My wife's salmon was very good and my steak frites was good but I was hoping for something more from the French specialty.

Good review. Hadnt heard, didn't search. Where is Anjou? New?

Funny....I was there too and there were only 10 people in the whole (huge) place.

I would go similar in the review. I went with 2 French food snobs so they led me down the path a bit better than Andy.

Beignets. Yep. Soft hush puppies. Good for one but a basket of was a waste.

French meat plate. Yuck, but that is just my opinion. I am not I to cold fatty salami.

Caesar was really good. Heavy. Good.

Julie got the Tuna. It was great. A-

I got the Steak Frittes and the guy with me told me to add a white peppercorn sauce. It was kick ass. The meat was a strip and cooked perfect but it was a bit firm. I like filets and should have spent the extra $5 for it. Steak A-

Some rich dude with our group bought the wine so all I had was 2 glasses of wine and dinner and it was $90 + tip so it is a solid player in the Shapleys/Julip/Ruth. Chris world.

I will go back anytime I feel like dropping the cash. Good stuff.

We got a visit from the chef and Rebecca turned 30. Good night.

You need to start taking picks of the wine bottles.
That label looks like Plumpjack. If it is, that is a solid score!
