Well Deb, me and the girls did Tacky Jacks tonight. We have been going there for many years. Food tasted right out of the bag into a big pot of grease. Couldn't have been much better than Captain D's. Oysters were ok. Casamento's in New Orleans has spoiled us. $120 meal wasted.

Yep, We ate there this summer and maybe I had to much to drink or I was starving. I thought it was a good meal but tonight was not good at all. We had stopped going to Doc's and Lulu's because of the same deal. It's just time to find some new places.

Deb and I ate at Shipps Harbor Grill (Shenny ate there last night) per Ben Montgomery's recommendation earlier this year and thought it was very good. Add that to your list Shush.

Seafood platter at brigtsens in Nola. Oysters two ways, seared tuna, shrimp jalepeno cornbread, scallop in a butternut reduction, and drum with some love drizzled all over it and some skrimps.
Failed to take a pic of the BBQ shrimp (some of the best I ever had), the rabbit tenderloin, or the pulled pork over a corn cake with napa slaw and pepper jelly glaze.

If I had to complain, the rabbit was overcooked but whatev.

Yum!!

We hadn't been either but it's been around since 86. It's on Dante above Carrollton across the street from one of my favorite summer spots, dante's kitchen.
Dante's kitchen does a caprese salad in summer with creole tomatoes, crabmeat with a lemon caper remoulade, fresh mozzarella and basil. You'll lick the plate.

Best non-fried seafood platter was at the old Oyster Bar off Navy Blvd in Pensacola.
That was awhile back and not sure if it's still in business.

Walkers or Local 463, Shapleys, Ruth Chris, Table 100... In that order. Shapleys is hands down the best steak around.

I think PM = garbage. Mint is good not great.

We did table 100. Good but not great. I got burger and cup o gumbo. Wifey got salad and shrimp and grits. Have to try Local 463, everybody recommends it.

I like the T100 burger but it is a 6 where the 463 burger is a 10. Shrimp/grits at 463 much better at 463 too.

I am a T100 fan but like you said, good not great.

I was unimpressed by t100. Service lacked, and nothing I ate was wow. On the otherhand, grogan, pm has one of the more eclectic menus around.. Not the same old same old. I can only speak for when Craig was there.. No idea now, but the vibe of the place, the presentation of every dish, the uniqueness of the combinations, and the execution of the actual recipe- never was disappointed.

What did you dislike? Frankly I'm surprised.

I'm not a big fan of eclectic actually. K.I.S.S. principle generally works best.

I'm all about keeping it simple, but in the land of the chain,(AKA Jackson) I find PM refreshing.
Under the K.I.S.S. Mentality, places like camellia grill, r &o's, gumbo shop and crescent city steak house ( all in Nola) come to mind. Simple staples done well. I just like to recognize a place that's willing to go head to head with the cheddars and copelands of the world and offer something hip and unique in an area that lives and breathes on chilis coupons. in Nola, I think pm could hold it's own. That says a lot.
