Currently reassembling after a clutch job, and I can’t for the life of me remember where this metal plate is from and where it goes. Maybe my brain is just so tired from working all day on it, it’s probably pretty obvious.

Anyone able to help me out real quick?
 
It probably goes back where you took it off… 🤣
I kid, I kid! But honestly, that stumps me. I don’t recall seeing that piece when I’ve had mine apart.

It’s an 85 FJ
 
Hmmm. Is it part of the shift linkage? Mine is an 87 and I don’t recall seeing that piece. Maybe it’s just the angle of the photo. Looks like it’s suppose to stop a shifter from moving past a certain point. I could be way off and probably am.
 
I think I deleted that with the aftermarket exhaust. I remember being disappointed about it because Toyota did well except the part where they thought it okay to put the tailpipe under the rear bumper that was already hanging out like like a drunk chick in a miniskirt at a frat party.
