Ugh. If sand is correct, then I will have to order one more and send back two. My steering wheel on my 2000 is really dark.

Please post pics of the brown or sand. The top of my steering wheel was so bad that I just tore off the cover. I need something soon.

From the wheelskin site. Should have just ordered Green!

- Cobalt is a bright royal blue
- Blue is navy blue
- Sea Blue is a light to medium blue
- Green is a light, misty green
- Sand is a light beige color
- Oak is a medium earthtone color
- Tan is the color of tobacco or a football
- Brown is chocolate brown
- Charcoal is dark grey
- Grey is light to medium grey

Just received brown. Looks close. Have to verify in the 100.

I know. I will order up a color swatch and stop sending them my money. I went with OAK because that was the Toyota name for our interior in 2000.

I am changing my name to Gene for Genius or Mo for Mo Ron on this one. I ordered up 4 color swatches. Tan, Oak, Sand and Brown. Taking no further action until I receive the other color swatches.

I'm going with the oak in mine. Sand is lighter than oak. Neither is perfect for the tan interior but for $60 and a happy wife I'm going to go with something that is 'close enough' until I can find a wheel that I can have refinished.

First photo is oak on the wheel.

Second photo is sand on the wheel.

Third photo is both samples on the passenger side so you can see how they look with the two-tone.

Apologies for the blurry photos but I had to run down quickly between putting the kid to sleep and getting a bite to eat.

Pic 3 - Oak

Tan is the only other contender.

Based on these pics I think brown is the way to go if you want something that matches the existing leather. Ugh. Time to order a third cover! I was thinking the oak would be good enough but knowing there's a better match out there will now bug the crap out of me. The point is to get a cover that doesn't look like a cover.

Thanks for your pics.

My plan is still to get the wheel refinished by B&I but I need a donor wheel to make that happen it turns out. If I find one I'll have the work done that pass the wheel onto the next person who wants it for whatever I paid. Done well, everyone could end up with new wheels for a fraction of the $770 factory cost. Just need to start looking for that extra wheel...

Wait, we still need to see tan! Color swatches on the way.

Dave I got a 98 same color as yours.

The sand matches the leather seats almost exactly and the light colored plastic in the interior, but of course is not a match for steering wheel or the darker brown plastic on top of the dash.

The brown swatch is a shade or two too dark.

The tan looked horrible in my cruiser.

The oak swatch was missing from my package. Might be out since so many of us are getting swatches.

I am leaning to a two tone combo of sand and brown.

My 2000 is the same. I would think the sand would get dirty and look nasty quick.

I may go brown. It is dark but closer than oak. Waiting on a tan swatch prior to installation.

How can wheelskins be so far off on color? I wonder if they could do a custom batch?

Or should I just use the brown cover until the loaner wheel around program gets into full swing.

Yeah, you're right but my year has been so chock full of other 'stuff' going on that I was in survival mode and couldn't handle any additional complications at the time.

I'll post pics later, but I installed a brown skin on my 2000 with tan interior less than a year ago (less than 15K miles) and the darn thing is already fading, i.e its starting to look like the original wheel cover before I bought the wheel skin (turning dark brown on the top side)... other than that the fit and feel is perfect, it almost looks factory

I am not so concerned about the fading as I am the fact that my current cover has cuts and chunks missing out of it and looks really bad. If this cover can stay in tact and be a little faded that maybe ok.
